Brake & gas pedals - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Steve Hull - January 15 - 2:00 amThe gas and brake pedals are too close together for people who have size 12 feet or bigger, my shoe at times gets somewhat caught on the left side of the sole with the right side of the brake pedal, I have contacted Toyota twice about this problem, no responce yet, this could cause a delay in stopping and a crash could occure; my wife is the primary driver and she has a size 8 foot and has noted this also. There needs to be a recall for this problem.

I should have owned one years ago - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By RNMANAGER - January 15 - 2:00 amOutstanding performance, good pick-up when merging to an interstate. During icy condition, sets alarm to alert driver of skidding. Ease of view when changing lanes. Storage is adequate with folding back seat, can accomodate long large load. Beats other types of vehicle in an uphill terrain. Full tank I use for a week in a 60 + mile commute daily. Sits 5 adults comfortable. Handles sharp turn well.

I love my 4-Runner - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By clskin - January 15 - 2:00 amI have had comments from multiple people regarding the style and beauty of my vehicle. When asked how I enjoy my vehicle I can only respond "I love it". I have always enjoyed the reliability of Toyota vehicles, and also the drive, this is the first vehicle I have owned that I can truly say I love to drive. I find excuses to get in my SUV to drive.

Best SUV in its class - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By dogg53 - January 15 - 2:00 amI test drove a lot of SUVs in its class and once I drove the new 4Runner, I could not find another SUV that came even close to the performance, body style, comfort, leg room and mpg. I feel sorry for all those people who bought the Ford Explorer. Yes, I test driven it also. Yes, the 4Runner is better.

My First Toyota But, Not My Last!!!! - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By SDS - December 5 - 9:43 amBlack 2WD 4.0L V-6 SR5, 17" Wheels ,Stone Cloth, M1 Synthetic Oil, K&N Air filter. This is a Great Midsized SUV. The performance of the new V-6 is just Awsome. It has a very good well mannered ride and has a great feel through corners. I always look forward to driving it. We already have 24k miles in just over 10 months, No Problems. We have 2 kids so the pull down cup holders and tray in the middle of the back seat work out great. The mileage is great for a 4000lbs+ SUV. We regularly get 19-20MPG in town and as good as 24.5-25MPG on trips with sustained speeds of around 55-65MPH. 800+ mile trip from NC to MI with speeds of 70-80mph 22.5MPG. Looking to buy another Toyota soon.

Best SUV for the money - 2004 Toyota 4Runner
By Toy4ever - November 1 - 10:00 amI purchased my V8 4WD 4runner new in Aug 2004. I now have 89,000 hard on and off-road miles on it and it still runs like new. No problems, no repairs, just scheduled maintenance. I had Toyota install a Readylift 2.5" front lift kit, Bilstein HD shocks, 32" BF Goodrich T/A tires and a TRD air filter. I highly recommend these upgrades for off-road use. The increase in performance is amazing. Average gas mileage is 18.1 mpg. My previous 4runners had approx 400,000 miles when I sold them. The 2004 is much better than previous models. I plan to keep this car forever.
