Overview & Reviews
SE models now include a manual-shift mode for the CVT, and satellite radio pre-wiring is standard on all models. The standard driver seat now features 10-way power adjustment.
- Excellent handling, comfortable and practical interior, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat, gets pricey with options.

A different animal - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Frobozz - May 30 - 10:00 amIts got a lot more style than other car-based SUVs and is a lot of fun to drive, all things considered. Interior leaves a lot to be desired, though -- enormous dash, cheap leather seats, cheap door handles all detract from the look. Some cloth interiors have a rat fur look to them. Popular packages boost the cost of this car in a big hurry. I like the CVT. Not a good value but youre not going to buy this vehicle for the value. Its sporty and attractive (from the outside).

Not your mothers Nissan... - 2004 Nissan Murano
By MM - May 8 - 10:33 pmI say this because my own mother has a 1994 Maxima which hasnt had near the amount of problems that my 2004 Murano has had. Power seat died once, visor stopped staying up, and I have been to the dealer 3 times to fix a rattle in the door, an issue which has a service bulletin out for it. And yet, they have been unable to fix it. Loved the vehicle when I first bought it, but have started to hate it!

Disappointing MPG - 2004 Nissan Murano
By DannyRay - November 8 - 2:00 amBad news first: I have been unable to get above 16 MPG city or HIGHWAY. This is totally unacceptable. I love the way it drives and handles. The interior is laid out very nicely except for the odd little storage below the radio. I love the exterior styling, still getting lots of looks. Im not sure if I will be keeping it, if Nissan or the dealer wont do something.

Could have been great - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Dave - October 29 - 3:03 pmThe Murano is a very good vehicle, unfortunately it could have been a great vehicle. Very poor interior design, the dash instrumentation is some kind of cream, off yellow color. It should have been a brilliant white. The Bose stereo is very hard to use, too many button to look at while driving, very confusing and not all that great of sound quality. Performance is outstanding, fuel mileage is acceptable. The roof rack is a joke, no cross bars came with the vehicle, Nissan wants to sell them to you separately!! Very cheap of them I think!

MURANO - 2004 Nissan Murano
By AnnMarie - September 22 - 10:00 amI love my car but think that all models should be sold with a sunroof and roof rails. Otherwise, the car is excellent.

Fun to drive - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Holbrook - June 27 - 2:00 am27,000 miles in about one year and for the most part a good experience. It is nimble and fun to drive with gas milage a little better than I hoped for. One breakdown at 26000 (alternator went out) but was fully covered by warranty.

No Freezer On Wheels - 2004 Nissan Murano
By JAG - January 15 - 1:06 pmWith so mant boxy SUVs around, I think the styling is a fresh change of pace. Why is Explorer the benchmark? Murano has the same cargo and passenger space, gets way better mileage (I Ave.20.5) better performance and costs 5Gs less. Wake up all you Ford Diehards
