Overview & Reviews
SE models now include a manual-shift mode for the CVT, and satellite radio pre-wiring is standard on all models. The standard driver seat now features 10-way power adjustment.
- Excellent handling, comfortable and practical interior, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat, gets pricey with options.

Great SUV !! - 2004 Nissan Murano
By BobPr - September 4 - 10:00 amI purchased my Glacier Pearl Murano ( Leather Package ) after months of deliberation and test driving numerous SUVS. I narrowed it down to the Honda Pilot and the Toyota Highlander. The previous vehicles were nice but donot come close to the Murano in Performance,Handling or Braking. The CVT which I must say after reading some Editors Reviews had me concerned. I just returned from a trip to the Mountains ( Lake Tahoe ) and was Blown away by the Performance. The CVT is SMOOTH and RESPONSIVE. This is a GREAT SUV !! If I encounter any Problems I will Post a Follow Up .

The fit for me - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Paul - July 15 - 2:03 pmIm a big guy and needed room. I fit comfortably , even in the back. The transmission is a wonder! The heated seats are great for the winter and my old bones. CD player and stereo system rivel my Volvos system -great feature.

Im afraid of liking this too much! - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Dodge Shuler - June 11 - 10:00 amOnly have 1,400 miles on new Murano, but so far absolutely thrilled. Computer says averaging 23mpg... rides nice... very quiet (even when sunroof open)... great stereo...comfortable (especially ease of entry)... moveable pedals etc, with memory, quite handy...dual zone air a big plus...transmission a beaut...heated seats a "necessity"...xeon headlights a huge advancement...so far; Dealer A+.

A different animal - 2004 Nissan Murano
By Frobozz - May 30 - 10:00 amIts got a lot more style than other car-based SUVs and is a lot of fun to drive, all things considered. Interior leaves a lot to be desired, though -- enormous dash, cheap leather seats, cheap door handles all detract from the look. Some cloth interiors have a rat fur look to them. Popular packages boost the cost of this car in a big hurry. I like the CVT. Not a good value but youre not going to buy this vehicle for the value. Its sporty and attractive (from the outside).

Dont buy a 2004 Murano - 2004 Nissan Murano
By ihatenissan - May 18 - 8:40 pmAt 72,000 miles the transfer case cracked, a $4,100 repair. I agree with user nutmeg a vehicle this expensive should not have a $4,100 repair before $100,000 miles. Nissan customer service is terrible, very condescending and useless. I WILL NEVER BUY NISSAN AGAIN! This is the second lemon from Nissan I have purchased, Im done. Nissan even issued a technical service bulletin regarding how to fix the transfer case and it is w/ 2005 specifications. They should have issued a recall. Nissan is in the business of selling cars but not building customer relationships. This will eventually catch up with them. Repeat customers are what keeps companies in business.
