  • Great car but - 2008 Nissan Altima

Everything is great but I am disappointed with MPG. I average 26 and do mostly highway driving. Thought I would get 30 mpg. Also, the nav system is bad compared to garmin or others. It is stupid how to save a point, forcing you to go out and around and back it to name it. Also can not access your saved points while the car is moving. I feel stopping on a highway is FAR more dangerous than accessing your saved points as you get near your destination. Stay away from remote start, 3 tries and they still can not get it right with the push button start. My suggestion is NOT to go for the technology package. Voice command does not work either. Other than that I recommend the car.

  • Poor Brakes - 2008 Nissan Altima

I purchased my 2008 Altima in March 08 and I have already had to have my rear brakes replaced and rotors filed down. Mind you I have only 10k miles on my car. I really like my car a lot however I dont know if I am too thrilled that I am having brake problems already.

  • Bad ride & suspension system - 2008 Nissan Altima

I am really not happy with the ride of this vehicle, my driving is mostly in the city and the vehicle does not take the pot holes & various bumps that you find in most Cities. On the freeway the ride is very good. I had complained to Nissan Northern Regional in Canada and they referred me my dealership locally and they inspected the suspension system and said nothing was wrong with it that is how it was manufactured, well I sort of expected tho, to no avail! But on the more positive side the car is really a nice car, nice styling and the engine is a little noisy but runs good it is too bad that its suspension is not adequate to give a more comfortable ride overall.

  • Nice cockpit - 2008 Nissan Altima

The car feels light for its size, and quite agile. Only one concern: the engine started to run rough already (some kind of knocking or ticking noise along with rpms).

  • CVT Performance Needs Attention - 2008 Nissan Altima
    By -

I have owned this vehicle for over 2 years. Love everything BUT the CVT Transmission! It hesitates upon acceleration, it jerks (like a manual transmission that needs shifted) at 35-40 mph. To me...its EMBARRASSING, I feel like I am driving a sub par vehicle when I have a passenger with me. Hello Nissan, 35-40 miles an hour in the city is the speed limit! Please, please fix this issue...it is making me CRAZY! Love the sportier feel over my previous Camry, but with Nissan aware of this issue and not having a fix for it yet is just ridiculous. Thank goodness this car is going to be passed down to my 16 year old soon so I can get another vehicle.

  • Fun economy car - 2008 Nissan Altima
    By -

Ive had my altima for a few months now. Its comfortable and powerful. Averaging 28 mpg (30% city/70% highway) which is what I expected. The transmission is excellent though it takes a bit getting used to. The seats are comfortable and I can fit my 3 kids in the back (3 car seats). I compared it to other similar models and found it was more fun to drive than your camry, accord, fusion, sonata, etc. Between that, the looks, fuel economy and price, I found it was the perfect combination for my tastes.

  • im bored with it... - 2008 Nissan Altima
    By -

I thought this car was going to solve my car buying woes...i was wrong. Its and okay car if you just want something to drive. I want personality in the car. Buy a civic coupe. Its cheaper. It gets really good gas mileage. The trunk is really small. I can fit 1 golf bag and a duffle bag...thats it. The sound system has good speakers for just the base model. If your gonna buy get a manual trans. Its gonna be more fun than the cvt...its boring. smooth ride. i will give it that. the interior is built around the driver and i feel comfortable when in it. Just really bored with car. Would be awesome as rear wheel drive.

  • Honest 2008 Altima coupe 2.5 automatic review. - 2008 Nissan Altima

This is the first car I bought. Im not gonna talk much about my story, just stick to what you wanna hear. The pros and the cons. Im going to start out with saying Im very happy with this car and Im happy I bought it. I first bought it fully stock except with a nice spoiler on it which is a great touch to the already nice look the car has. Its a nice quiet car but not anything worth racing with. The interior is very nice looking and I have 0 complaints about it. There isnt any cool tech but thats okay to me. The exterior is very nice and slick. What I like about it the most is I find it unique looking, something not everyone has. It tops out at 111mph wont go any fastester. Here are the cons i have with the car. It tends to over heat easily which had me worried. Also the stock tires are awful. And It does not handle turns well. Those are my only complaints. Besides that its a smooth riding car with a nice exterior/interior and a very smooth shifting transmission. If you want to make the car extra nice, loud, and worth racing with, put a stillen air intake, header, and exhaust system on. Runs great, sounds great, and doesnt over heat anymore. Definitely will be turning heads when you drive by!

  • Sporty Value - 2008 Nissan Altima
    By -

Traded up from a Sentra SE-R. Although much bigger, the Altima Coupe 3.5SE has more power and a luxyury-car like interior with the premium pkg. Im getting almost the same gas mileage as the Sentra, too! Handling is softer but the A/C is a great value for what you get.

  • Solid Car - 2008 Nissan Altima

We have this car for almost 2 years without any issues at all, only regular oil changes. Wife loves the car and feels solid on the highway as well as great mpg 30+. Very happy with the purchase and will look at Nissan again for my next car.
