Overview & Reviews
Diesel fans, rejoice! After years of waiting, a Mercedes-Benz diesel is once again available in the States, as the E320 CDI joins the lineup. For now, this model is only 45-state certified, meaning that it's unavailable in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New York or Vermont. Beginning in March 2005, the base E320 becomes the E350 with the addition of a 3.5-liter V6 with 51 more horsepower. At the same time, a sport package will be added, which features upgraded suspension tuning and wheels, as well as steering wheel-mounted shift buttons. Complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.
- Sleek and dignified design inside and out, pleasing blend of ride and handling, sophisticated safety features, all-wheel drive available on both sedans and wagons.
- More expensive than competitors, confusing control layout, electronically controlled brakes lack progressive feel.

Finally - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Loren - December 23 - 6:36 amA sedan that sends most sports car owners running to their therapists. Just incredible to haul groceries in comfort, and humiliate most Porsches at the same time.

E55 Review - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By L Osmont - December 16 - 6:30 amThe automotive know-how that went into this car is simply amazing. It is incredibly versatile and user friendly. It will willingly comply whether you want to go slow and smooth or fast and hard. The fit and finish is superior and the outside looks elegant and powerful. The engine is scarily powerful. You will NEVER AGAIN wish you had more horsepower at your disposal, and braking is very authoritative. This is an everyday car, a super car, a family car and a commuter car all in one.

Why did I wait so long? - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Floridadriver - December 8 - 7:10 pmAfter waiting to compare the new BMW 545 to the E500 and other also rans, I went with the E500 and have not been disappointed. No quality issues with mine. Very few nits to pick on. Performance is OUTSTANDING, unless the 5.8 sec 0-60 isnt good enough for you (go E55). The three position suspension is very handy - dials in the three settings I like (cruising, everyday, and attack). The 7 speed is a joy, and the comfort/style is timeless. The headlights are great, always eliciting delight from passengers. Seats (adaptive) are spectacular. Seat/steering wheel adjustments combine for the best ergonomic setting possibilities Ive seen in a vehicle.

Love this car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By richbpa - October 4 - 7:53 amFirst the buying experience was exceptional & flawless. I live in NE PA & vehicle availabilty as well as professional salesmanship are not available. I also own an 04 C-240 4-Matic which led us to the E Class. My wife & I are both extatic with these two vehicles. I feel safe in these cars. They handle exceptionally well. Not a single problem with either. The size of the E vs. the C makes it firmer. The C is awesome in winter driving and look forward to the experience wthis winter with the E. DVD Nav is awesome. Wouldnt change a thing on my E. I traded an 03 Lexus ES300 which I liked, but the E is better. "I just love this car"

2005 E320 4matic Awesome Ride - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Raul - September 30 - 3:56 pmThis car handles great and has been very reliable compare to what others have written about it. It has very good acceleration, gas mileage is decent and the interior/exterior design is fantastic. I love it. Black with beige interior two tone is luxury. Everybody looks when I drive. Aerodynamics is nothing but the best. Stereo could be a little louder but great sound anyway. Trust on this one change your transmission fluid...no such thing is lifetime. Dont get past 60k without changing fluid...you wont regret it. The interior lighting is a whole lot better than BMW. Tires should be rotated at least once a year because they are expensive. This is my life time car....would never sell it.

My new E320 CDI - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By azdskin - August 29 - 10:00 amThis is my first Mercedes Benz vehicle and I love it. The 3.2-liter turbo diesel is very fast and powerful. The fuel economy is awesome, 27mpg in the city and 35mpg on the hwy. There is no annoying diesel chatter or smell.

Best Benz - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By R.W. Murray - August 14 - 4:50 amMy Benz is the best driving car I have owned. Cornering and braking are excellent. A Little more space in the "E" would be a plus.

not like 1999 model - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jac 45 - July 17 - 10:00 amThe new one is smaller and much more plastic. Driver seat is comfortable, passenger is not. Sure, it has more zip but it should be called a 200 series as that is the size of the body. Nowhere near the space for passengers in rear.
