This Year's Model Updates:

For 2006, both the wagon and the slow-selling C-Class coupe are history, leaving only the sedan. A V6 engine is now standard on every sedan model. The C230 gets a new 201-hp, 2.5-liter V6, while the C240 is renamed the C280 and has a 228-hp, 3.0-liter V6. The C320 is now the C350, boasting a 268-hp, 3.5-liter V6. 4Matic-equipped vehicles get an improved five-speed automatic, and rear-wheel-drive models get a new seven-speed automatic.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat, only available as a sedan.

I have driven the car 13,000 miles since September. Car has been a joy to drive. Handles great with great gas mileage, esp highway (32 MPG). It is a great looking car with the AMG package. Could use a little more power off the line but has good acceleration past 25 mph. The base stereo system is better than expected.

When I first got the car I fell in love with the way it handled, looked, and the gawking that I got from other drivers when they saw the big ol star on the hood. However this car is a true Chrysler product, I have owned it about a year and a half now, it has been towed in immobile three times, one time a pulley ceased, next time the electrical, most recent the "accelerator pedal" malfunctioned making the tranny immobile. After I purchased it I had problems with the sun roof not automatically closing as it was supposed to, took them six times in the shop to fix it. Anything to do to this car repair wise (oil, tires, brakes) is way overpriced. Disappointed with the car, thought it was better

Owning The C230 Sport has been a great experience, I dont believe weve been happier with an automobile. The maintenace cost has only been a set of tires, which was a little disappointing, I thought the Michelins Pilots could have at least made 30k miles. The handling is outstanding.

I have wanted a Mercedes all of my adult life. My husband finally bought me one for our 30 anniversary. I love it! Its my baby! My old car is only two years old but when I drive it it feels like it is 10 years old. Nothing drives better than my Mercedes. I look forward to my next one. I hope that I will have the chance to move up to an even nicer model.

I worked in the assembly of Dodge Trucks and this C230 sport is the best vehicle I have owned. Safety, comfort , and fun to drive. Now I see why M/B vehicles are nice. I will keep you updated in the future.

I just bought the wife the new 06 c230 7 speed automatic Sport, she loves it. The car handles great since she was coming off the H3 go figure how good we are doing with gas prices these days. The exterior is good looking and I wish it would come with leather instead of the half/half. Great looking car overall.

  • Luxury Ride - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This car is like riding on a cloud. The ride is very smooth and luxurious. It is easy to drive and easy to maneuver. I average between 26-28 MPG on the highway. If you are looking for luxury, look no further than the Mercedes C280. I also recommend getting the 4-matic. It is great in the snow.

I purchased my second MB December 2005. It is a 2006 C230 Sport. My first MB was a 2000 C230 Kompressor. The body of the 2006 Sport is so pretty. It gets a lot of great looks. The pick-up is much slower than the Kompressor and the braking system is very rough. On cold mornings there is a knocking noise in the engine, but goes away after the car warms up. In town the car is not near as smooth as the kompressor and seems to jerk when slowing down. When out on the interstate, the 2006 runs very smooth and has a big car feel. I did get the 3 level seat memory which is great and I like the screen in the back. Living in Florida, the sun is hard on the interior.

  • Not Such A Good Choice - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Ive had my 06 C280 for about 14 months now. I have had it into the dealer five times, each time with a list of minor problems. The last visit, three weeks ago, the transmission was replaced under warranty. Plenty of squeaks, rattles and vibrations. Transmission still seems to make a funny noise. My center console cover has come off four times. This is my first and last Mercedes. They have sacrificed quality and reliability.
