This Year's Model Updates:

For 2006, both the wagon and the slow-selling C-Class coupe are history, leaving only the sedan. A V6 engine is now standard on every sedan model. The C230 gets a new 201-hp, 2.5-liter V6, while the C240 is renamed the C280 and has a 228-hp, 3.0-liter V6. The C320 is now the C350, boasting a 268-hp, 3.5-liter V6. 4Matic-equipped vehicles get an improved five-speed automatic, and rear-wheel-drive models get a new seven-speed automatic.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat, only available as a sedan.

Purchased used with 24k. still under warranty. Ride is quiet and firm. Gas mileage is 25 in town 30 on the hwy. Stereo is exceptional. Brakes are first rate. Turns on a dime. No shakes, rattles or rolls. No squeaks, thumps,or vibrations of any kind.Transmission is smooth and fun to drive in sports, manual mode. No problems at all in 10k of daily driving. A great car so far.

  • Love my Mercedes - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Mercedes has really stepped it up in the C class range. I fully anticipated that when I went to purchase my wifes new entry level Mercedes that the acceleration would be just decent and that the fit and finish would contain some plastic. For a 62 male, this car has plenty of room and feels like a mid-size sedan and the handling is tight enough for aggressive cornering but comfortable enough for a luxury feeling. I am very satisfied with the purchase and would buy another any day.

Excellent handling. Great performance from 200 hp. Excellent dash and instruments. 7 speed: super. Performs better than my C320 did as a result of the 7 speed. Super brakes and good positioning of the brake above the floor.

I just bought my C230 about a month ago and it is really a nice car. Great interior and exterior. Comes standard with very nice 17 inch Mercedes rims and has that classy but sporty look to it. It has a 6 cylinder engine that gives 201 horses. While going 100 mph on the highway it feels like youre going 50. if youre going to buy a car in the $30-40,000 dollar range I highly suggest you look at the C230

The comments from this website really made me backed out from buying the car, but I finally couldnt resist and bought it. Now I have owned it for a month, and I LOVE IT! Accelertaion on the freeway is very smooth. If you are going to buy the car, the extended warranty is highly recommended, because there will be some mechanical problems. There IS a cup holder in the back. You have too pull out the thing in between the seats.

This is a great automobile to drive. Ride, comfort and performance are outstanding. Build qualiy is excellent and the C280 is just the right size for getting around town or on the interstate.

I am a new MB owner and am glad to have made the switch. I purchased my used 4matic this year and have been pleased with the performance thus far. My only dislikes would be the automatic wiper sensors when it rains and comfort mode. I highly recommend Sport mode to really know what your driving. I also think the windows should be a shade darker.

This care is perfect. It is heavy for a car, and it drives SO smoothly. It seems to hug the road. I absolutely love this car!

  • Three words - "piece of junk" - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I have owned 5 MBs since 1989 and through the years have been pretty much pleased. I bought the C230 Sport, bright Mars Red. Styling is hot - but that is where it stops. The aluminum interior trim looks like it was cut from an old tin can. Performance was lacking and at idle the car had a lot of engine vibration. At 3,000 miles, most of the lightbulbs had blown, and the windows would periodically start going up and down by themselves. First service appt. cost $ 300.00. MB should take a clue from BMW and quit putting 4 cyl. engines in these cars. I just traded this car last week for a new 2006 BMW 330i (resale was awful) and traded my SLK230 for a new Z4 - 3.0. My MB days are over.

  • Great car while in warranty !!!!!!! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The design department did its job flawlessly with the C-Class; The car is a delight to drive when new and shows great composure on the road and lots of punch, inside the car you are surrounded by exquisite quality (if you choose the OPTIONAL luxury packages), but beneath the skin there is a time bomb. Materials, components and especially electrics and electronics are a nightmare and they seem to be designed to withstand only the use for 3 yrs / 60,000 miles. I experienced serious problems with electrics and electronics, AT gearbox (transmission conductor), steering rack (!!!), countless electrical surges and...lousy dealer service. Treat yourself with A NEW MB, BUT ONLY WITHIN WARRANTY !
