Overview & Reviews
New body-colored door edge guards are available as an option, as is Homelink and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with a built-in compass.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck.
- Weak base four-cylinder, mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models, cheap-looking interior.

Surprising 2004 Mazda Tribute LX-A - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By hughlock - June 11 - 10:00 amThis SUV is just plain old fun to drive. The steering is extremely responsive with no "center dead space" to limit reaction time. Some people have complained about the wind noise at high speeds; I suggest you test drive some of the other makers of SUVs and you will change your mind. The Tribute is an overall success at a great price. Mine was less than $20,000.

Quality Vehicle for a good price - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Tim PD1 - May 10 - 10:00 amThis is a well built vehicle. I would buyanother one and tell friends to buy one. It looks better then the escape because of the matched color paint on the outer body. I do wish it would get just a little better gas mileage. over all I would get this SUV again in a heartbeat.

Lemon is the color of my Tribute - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By wbc-dc - April 17 - 10:00 amAt 5000 miles (3mos)-started hearing strange noise when car was cold-found out steering seals were installed wrong and rack and pinion steering needed replacement. As soon as that was repaired-noticed vibration and rushing sound with acceleration-determined that it needed a new transmission. Went in for transmission repair and found out that the bolt holding the transmission was only in by two threads and transmission could have fallen off. Obviously a bad day at the factory- whats next-I am scared to drive it!

Tribute Gold - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By tardif - March 23 - 2:00 amI enjoy driving the 2004 Mazda Tribute Gold Addition. I average 238 miles to the gallon in city driving. The Tribute appears to have more interior room. With 5 boys and 3 over 6 feet tall we need all the room we can get.

By plinard - March 11 - 10:00 amLove to drive this little beauty. Very comfortable downsize from my van. Sporty and good milage for engine size. Comfortable for two of the teens in our house but wouldnt want all three in the back at the same time. Great stereo upgrade package and cargo tray. Fun car.

My Tribute withstood a 50MPH rear-ending - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Law girl - March 11 - 10:00 amI have been very pleased with the purchase of this vehicle, and this month I was really impressed. I was rear-ended on the freeway by a driver going about 50 MPH and my Tribute held up beautifully. Only a slight crack in the bumper. The other car was totalled. Good job to Mazda!

Had Ford Escape - 2004 Mazda Tribute
By Dorfer - February 8 - 2:00 amI had a Ford Escape for 55,000 miles. Just traded for Mazda and like it better. Classier look and feel. Quieter. Several little extras included. Cheaper price, higher rebate, longer warranty.
