  • Must Have Fallen Off the Truck! - 2003 Mazda Mazda6

The overall design is very good. It is comfortable yet sporty, with a nice interior and a lot of nice touches such as the standard steering wheel audio controls. The 4-wheel disc brakes are excellent. Unfortunately, I have had a lot of problems with this particular car, everything from drivetrain to interior to the infamous "staining". Perhaps this car fell off the truck!

I bought my car in May of 2003. I loved the car since I first saw it, and of course it was my favorite color, Yellow! I got the car and had problems 3 months later. And still to this day I am having problems. When I am coming to a stop, and the gears are shifting from 4th to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd, it shifts really hard to where it jolts the car. I have taken it to the dealership at least 4 times and there is nothing they can do for it. One technician told me the car is suppose to ride like that... Which I highly doubt! So now to this day, I am filing the Lemon Law.

I had Mazda 6 and it was doing well till it hit the 50 k mark and then it became a problem. Once it had 65K and it became beyond repair. If you are looking for a durable car for sure this is not for you.

  • Next best thing to a BMW - 2003 Mazda Mazda6

I love my 2003 Mazda6s! And my previous car was a 1989 BMW 325is. Other than my getting used to front wheel drive in the Mazda, the 6s handles remarkably well compared to the BMW. I love a car with great road feel, and this car is glued to the road. I love the 5 speed manual transmission and the 17" wheels. Got the complete sport package. Such performance in an everyday car makes the commute to work in the morning my fun time! And what a value. Other than routine maintenance, I have had no problems. Its a sweet car if you believe that unless you use both hands and both feet, you arent really driving. If you want to float down the highway on a sofa, better get a Lexus.

Ive had my 6 for almost 3 years now and I love it. It has great power and very smooth, tight steering. A very smooth ride with good suspension and a great transition between gears, even while flooring it. Ive added on a few aftermarket features (performance exhaust and tires, along with street glow and window tint) and Im going to add more in the future (performance intake) but even without the add ons, the 6 had plenty of power and is a great ride.

  • My review from Maryland - 2003 Mazda Mazda6

Great car. Got some satisfaction from having more midrange pickup, better handling & trunk room than brothers more expensive Audi and!! unlike his, my Mazda (6 cyl) can run well on regular gas! Agree that the fake metal interior finishes - esp around the shifter scratch too easily. upgrade on this is neccesary for ownership & re-sale satisfaction. Driving & satifaction w/ appearance awesome. Didnt get sports exterior but had upgraded interior & sun roof - great. Needed good driving, good looking, not too expensive drive foir work w/ room for family. GOt it. Negative: my automatic doesnt seem to downshift quickly enough for city/non- hwy driving. Great on hwy. Manual override great too.

(Black Manual Loaded)Ive had it for 1.25yrs, and I still look forward to driving it everyday. It has a lot of sex appeal both here and in Canada, and Ive noticed that a lot of other young professionals are now driving the 6. At red lights, girls have smiled and waved to me, and guys have challenged me to numerous races. It handles well, looks great, has all of the features I wanted, and was well priced. Fuel economy at 23.58mpg is alright considering the way I drive (yes I keep an Excel sheet with my car’s stats). Ive noticed minor rattles in cold weather, but I havent had any mechanical problems or had any unscheduled maintenance. I wish I waited for the 5-door.

1 week old. Interior is a little cheap. Handling & acceleration are great. $19700 delivered including 5% sales tax.

  • Still Having Fun - 2003 Mazda Mazda6

I bought my Mazda 6 in Sept 2003, and 5 months later am still having fun. Notes say that it is lacking power, but I find it quite decent except maybe out of the starting blocks. If I switch over to the manual ability, I can get a better reaction time. The handling is awesome, and I love the tight steering. Overall, I was looking for a 4 door car due to a growing family, but wanted to stay sporty and Mazda has filled the bill perfectly. Also, I didnt want to be in just another 4 door family sedan, and I still feel I have avoided that. Overall, very satisfied, especially for the money I spent.
