Overview & Reviews
Although it maintains much of its chassis architecture, the 2010 Mazda 3 is otherwise an all-new car. Highlights include revised exterior styling, improved fuel economy and power, a more modern interior design and new luxury-oriented features.
- Athletic handling and performance, high-end interior, unparalleled available luxury features, available hatchback utility.
- Ride may be too firm for some, interior and trunk not as large as those of competitors.

Good for what you pay - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By AJ - November 4 - 9:20 pmThis car for me, right off the test drive, no matter how much you try to abuse it, it wont let up. It will adjust to your driving style. I suspect that maybe if I have driven the manual version, then I could have done some real damage, but I didnt get the chance. Anyways, the car handling is exact and precise. The performance isnt anything spectacular, but it should be sufficient for anyone driving aggressively, kind of...Luckily, the car comes with a tremendous amount of features and interior design and layout to make it exciting, or fun in the least. You wont be disappointed if you just want a base car to mess around with, but if you want a true sports car, go for better models!

Great...for the first two years - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By fzyltlsquirrel - October 26 - 2:09 pmI was in love with this car. Frankly, in many ways I still am. I have the standard tranny and love the handling. The car really is fun to drive. Except when the gear synchro does not function properly from first to second. I drive 300+ miles a week, and have since I got the car. We live in northern CA and go snowboarding and backpacking often, so this car gets driven a lot. Even so, it is only 2 1/2 years old, and the tranny is clearly going bad. The worst part is that it is an intermittent problem that the dealer has yet to duplicate. I have 5,000 miles left on my warranty so, sadly, Im trading her in for a CX 5 - which doesnt come with as many features on the manual. Disappointing

Greatest Value for under 18K - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Latinpashin - August 28 - 11:56 amYou buy the 2010 Mazda3 because you are looking for a car that is under 18k, is practical, safe, economical, reliable, 4 doors and fun, period. I test drove the civic, corolla, subaru impreza, dodge SRT4 and Fit. I must say, the Civic ex came very close. I noticed that the civic had some real low end pep, better mpg, better interior, but in the end, the mazda3 seemed to have a suspension and road feel edge with the benefit of being a redesigned car that was engineered to be fun. A guiltless decision for a 35 year old guy who wanted a Subaru WRX.

Zoom Zoom - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By mbelfatto - July 9 - 11:44 pmI have had my 2010 Mazda 3s for about 18 months now and overall Im quite satisfied with some draw backs. I decided to spend a little bit extra money and upgrade from the iTouring to the Sport sedan. I think that the Mazda interior is very stylish and great quality. There are a lot of amenities packed into that little tiny car. The car has great pick up especially when you stomp on the throttle in third gear, you can really feel the torque.

For Those Who Love To Drive - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Jeremy - May 20 - 1:26 amWith all the modern improvements to newer cars (suspension, braking, steering, noise, etc) its getting hard to remember what a driving a car really feels like. Most new cars are taking away the responsibility of driving and putting it in hands of computers and technology. Although my Mazda 3 has all of these technological advancements, they have combine to provide a driving experience like few others. You will feel the road, have confidence while steering, hear the engine, and feel the grip under braking. Thus, it is not a car for the passive driver. But, if you are looking for a car that you will actively drive and get feedback during the experience - the Mazda 3 is a great choice.

Good car with a couple of minor issues.... - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By ddau - January 22 - 11:50 pmI have owned my 2010 Mazda 3 Gran Touring 2.5L 6 speed since October of 2010. I recently hit 30K miles on it. It does have some minor workmanship issues. When its cold, the instrument cluster rattles (which stinks if you have OCD). The front left speaker needs to be replaced. And now the front rotors are warped. The dealership told me over the phone this morning that in Colorado, warped brakes are a common problem, but they arent going to do anything about it because its wear and tear. Funny, I havent had any "common" brake warping problems in my other cars I own, especially at 30K miles. Its a decent vehicle, but I have been reading up on the Dodge Dart.... just sayin.

Will never purchase a mazda again. - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By coakub - December 29 - 6:59 pmwords cannot explain how horrible my experience with mazda was. first my clutch failed(due to pressure plate wearing unevenly) with no warning at 19500 miles, after only owning since november, and then the service department treated me like crap, ignored their mechanics who said it was defective, screamed at me to the point i was in tears in the middle of the floor, and refused to cover the repairs, corporate was not much a better experience as they didnt care and wouldnt give me any answers. i contacted the local news stations and everyone in PITTSBURGH PA will know what has happened.

Its a good car, not a great car. - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Bubba - November 8 - 6:23 pmIve owned a few new cars in the last 7 years, and the only one I regret buying is the Mazda 3. Im not saying it was a bad purchase but I should have spent more time looking at the Honda and Toyota. The Mazda 3 has a powerful engine and a refined transmission that make it so nice to drive, but it comes at the cost of low quality interior materials and poor fit and finish. Features are plentiful but lack quality, thought, and purpose, and may even be totally pointless like manual headlamp leveling. I love the sporty feel and tight suspension, but some may find the ride noisy and rough. Finally, there is no coolant temperature gauge??? Whats up with that???

Great car - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By great little car - August 30 - 10:00 amComing up on 2000 miles, great car so far. 2.0 l engine is fairly peppy. The larger engine would be nice but I love the mpg. Averaging 32-35. Car is very fun to drive and really "sticks" to the road. Reminds me of a BMW rental I had in Germany. Seats can get a little uncomfortable on trips > 3 hours. All around good car, which is fun to drive.
