This Year's Model Updates:

Although it maintains much of its chassis architecture, the 2010 Mazda 3 is otherwise an all-new car. Highlights include revised exterior styling, improved fuel economy and power, a more modern interior design and new luxury-oriented features.

Pros:
  • Athletic handling and performance, high-end interior, unparalleled available luxury features, available hatchback utility.
Cons:
  • Ride may be too firm for some, interior and trunk not as large as those of competitors.

Great little car which is fun to drive. Bought it for my wife and serves as our second car. Five speed shifter is one of the best I have used in my more than 50 years of driving. Started with a 1947 Dodge five speed in my younger days. My advice to any reader is be sure to check this one out. On par with anything on the market. We get 30 mpg combined.

Downsized from a BMW x5 to this fun little ride. I needed a smaller more economical commuter and this was the only one that packed all the fun toys I enjoyed in previous vehicles. Handles great and definitely has enough punch to get out of its own way. If you are looking for a small-affordable commuter with all the comforts of a car costing thousands more, this is the car for you. If you get in blindfolded youll never know youre driving a sub 25K mazda.

I turned in a Honda Accord since I wanted a smaller car for going to the post office etc. First off the Accord had problems which it shouldnt have had. Problem with a window, power steering and needed new brakes early. The Mazda is good so far. The finish and upholstery inside is very good. I like the dashboard. Much better than the Civic. I miss a little bit the cruise control and power locks but again only a little bit.

  • I love my white mazda 3! - 2010 Mazda Mazda3

I just bought a brand new 2010 mazda 3 i touring with the white pearl paint. Its a gorgeous car and the quality and the amount of car you get for the money is outstanding. And the deals offered by Mazda cant be matched! Its not only a good-looker but delivers with the safety, comfort, handling, and decent acceleration/performance vs. exceptional fuel economy. All in all, its the BEST car in the segment all around.

I love this car. It handles great and it greets you with a zoom-zoom and hello and then a goodbye when you leave. The joker grin grille is a bit much, but it suits the personality of the car. Im tempted to get a Joker license plate. The hatch allows me to carry my mountain bike or whatever from Home Depot. Theres one thing I would change and that is the seat width in my upper back area. Its too narrow for me. My son just bought a new Subaru WRX and the seatback width is perfect. So Mazda make the seats as wide in the back so that the side bolsters surround the driver, not dig into my back. Funny I didnt notice it when I test drove it. Other than that I love the car. Its practical fun!

  • Great car recommend to all - 2010 Mazda Mazda3

I have this car for a little over a year and it has been a great car. My previous car was a 99 Honda Accord and this has alot more power and handles a lot better. everything is still running like new. One of my biggest gripes is that the original tires burned out extremely fast. Around 20K. It has plenty of power for passing and get up to the top speed, well the limiter. The shfit gear has loosen up a bit over the 28k I have had it but still good.. Love that all i have to do is change the oil which is great for a college student minus the tire issue. It scratches easily by the under the door handle.

6000 miles and 2 oil changes in and the car is still a blast to drive. The 2.5L is more than adequate for any driving style; averaging 29-30mpg with some fairly spirited driving city/hwy mix. The car has fairly large blind spots which you have to keep in mind when driving; However, I havent found it that much of a bother. If you do your own oil changes, you will love the drain/ filter setup mazda uses. The materials in the cabin feel like what you would expect in vehicles in higher price brackets; Much better that what ive seen in the vehicles in this class. The seats are excellent; I dont mind staying in the drivers seat for a few hours at a time. Overall a great choice.

  • For the price its a good car! - 2010 Mazda Mazda3

This is a solid car and overall Im happy with my purchase. The two problems that I have is that my driver seat SQUEAKS and I hate it! The other problem is that the clutch pedal does not seem to go down very smooth...though it does not affect the driving of the car. I will have to have them look into these problems. I got the very basic model as I did not have many options available to me for the standard (stick shift) transmission. This basic model did not come with power door locks or an alarm and I think that is ridiculous in 2010.

  • My experience with the new 3 GTI - 2010 Mazda Mazda3

I really enjoy driving my car everyday to work, since Im not a long distance driver, I really want to go on a long trip on my car, cause It feels great driving it. My car as an annoying sound on the dashboard that the dealer hasnt been able to identify, it develops specially on hot temperatures, it really bothers me, but everything else is excellent.

  • This wasnt written just after purchased - 2010 Mazda Mazda3

Unlike most reviews that are written just after the car was purchased and are 100% positive because you are so excited, this one is being written four months after purchase, after you get to know the car and its positives and negatives. Hope it helps you. After driving BMW 3 series cars since 1982 I have to say Im overall impressed with my Mazda 3 hatchback. It beats my old, aging, E36 Bimmer hands down. The suspension is downright TIGHT, the control is superb. Acceleration with my 6 speed manual transmission is super quick. To me the turbo is overkill.
