Overview & Reviews
Although it maintains much of its chassis architecture, the 2010 Mazda 3 is otherwise an all-new car. Highlights include revised exterior styling, improved fuel economy and power, a more modern interior design and new luxury-oriented features.
- Athletic handling and performance, high-end interior, unparalleled available luxury features, available hatchback utility.
- Ride may be too firm for some, interior and trunk not as large as those of competitors.

Over-Hyped - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Zack Harmon - November 29 - 11:23 amThese vehicles are not well-made. My paint on the hood and whole front clip is chipping off whenever anything hits it from a bug to a grain of sand. The gearshift knob spins. The tilt/telescope wheel doesnt stay where you set it. It is very hard for me (5-10" and 205 lbs) to get comfortable. There is no ergonomic way to use the armrest while you drive. It is really loud in terms of road noise transmitted up into the car. Now there is a shake in the front end at highway speed. It is simply an over-rated piece of junk. I hate this car more than any other I have ever had. It has 7,000 miles on it, I can only imagine how bad it will be at 20,000.

catastrophic clutch failure at 14k miles - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By natdallas - July 9 - 2:43 amIve really enjoyed driving this car. Ive driven two manual hondas, one subaru and an old datsun. Never any clutch problems. My 2010 Mazda 3 had a tight clutch one day, and then in the course of a day and a half, the clutch engaged the gear only partially--losing power--and finally, with a snapping sound, no power at all. Miriam Stevens (at Mazda North America Customer Care) gave the impression that Mazda does not care about premature clutch failures on this car. I mentioned the many web-postings about customers with similar clutch failures that appear out of nowhere, ending in sudden failure. This issue is not the result of wear and tear. Want to call lawyer.

Avoid. - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Trex - October 31 - 10:46 amThe car is really loud inside. No need to opt for the upgraded stereo because its really poor -you can tell when the car is parked. When the car is moving, you cant hear anything anyway. The interior and exterior trim are so cheap and flimsy. When you are shopping dont be afraid to tug on these bits and youll see what I mean. be gentle in case there is a break it you own it policy. I get 19.2 mpg combined, which is appalling for a modern 4 cyl 3000 Ib car. The seat is too small for me (front), Im 57", 140 Ibs. The lights are worthless, cant see anything- I could go on but Im getting tired -in short, please dont waist your hard earned $$.

Clutch Issue - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Raquel - February 2 - 3:20 pmI purchased a 2010 mazda 3 hatchback on 5/31/09. Car was driven for only two days and had problems w/ the clutch disc. Dealer repaired the issue then drove the car the next day. Car just stopped in the middle of the road and will not move, this time dealer ended up changing the clutch and transmission. To make the long story short I opted for a collateral exchange with the same model and specification as the 1st car I purchased.I got a 2nd car, after driving it for 2 weeks, car broke down again bec of the burnt clutch.I have driven a manual stick shift car for almost 20 years and this problem never happened to my Accord and Acura.I opted for lawyer representation bec Mazda wont fix the issue

Biggest Mistake Ever - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By fsufan0025 - August 8 - 2:00 amAfter being a Honda or Toyota person for years, I bought this car due to a GREAT salesman, and excellent finance offers. What a mistake! Took it in for service, and the next day a hubcap came off. But--hey not the service departments fault. And--well sell you a new 1 for $70. Brakes make noise at 14k, and already rattles and noise. Great sales experience, but the cars quality and the service dept ensure that Ill be getting out of this car asap and will NEVER have another Mazda
