While I dont understand any of the negative reviews, I guess there are exceptions to everything. After test driving many other manufacturers, we went back to Kia knowing what we were getting. This car is more comfortable than any of the Hondas, Hyundais, Toyota, Ford and Chevys. It drives really smooth, notice absolutely no problems with shifting gears, the interior and dash is extremely functional, lots of room and the extra storage in the back is great. I question some of the other reviews and their problems... I wouldnt base my decision on them to buy this vehicle. And the $19600 out the door (all taxes, tag, ect included) definitely helped, considering it was $28k sticker!

Shopped/drove $19-23K competition(used Edge, Mariner, CX7, CR-V, Pilot, Highlander, old MDX), we drove both 4/6 cyl Sorento. Kia dealer experience better than expected. Ultimately new Sorento V6 LX final price was competitive with other cars that were 4 years old and had 30-40K miles. Kia 100K mile warranty is world class. Have 1500 miles. Would give car a solid B. Ride is compliant but a bit tough over pot holes. Comfort is very good. V6 engine is strong, idle is not perfect, gas mileage only fair. Visibility from drivers seat takes getting used to, but mirrors are big. Base radio has good features but only fair fidelity. Bluetooth not solid. Got third seat, still good room. So Far So Good.

I wanted to buy a Sorento several years ago but was unsure because Kia wasnt established. I sure am glad I didnt wait any longer. My Sorento has been fantastic. I just went on vacation and we had plenty of room in storage and middle row. I drive almost all highway and the gas mileage has been wonderful.I have been getting around 27-28 mpg. I know that is still short of what they say it should get but Im not disappointed considering the size and weight of vehicle. My wife is due for a new car soon and we will be looking at the 2011 Optima. Good job Kia.

  • Great for the Price! - 2011 Kia Sorento

Started with a lease of the 2011 Sorento AWD. Was looking for a safe AWD for my daughter to use in college in New England. This model is great in snow and has a very tight turning radius. Didnt get many options as I was looking for a base model under $25K. I ended up buying out the lease and still like to drive it. Just came back from a 3,000 mile road trip with it and even though I have back problems. I found it comfortable to drive for long periods of time.

  • Not worth the money - 2011 Kia Sorento

Owned a Sorento for a little over a yr, that was a year to long. The best thing I did was trade it in for another make. I made several complaints to KIA regarding the terrible, harsh, sloppy, noisey suspension, but they said that my Sorento was normal. Hardly, my Isuzu Rodeos suspension had a better ride. KIA went 15+ years backwards. The door panels, dash, center console all rattle, more so in cold weather. Road noise is really bad, always thought I left a window open. KIA service is terrible, I tried 3 dealers with no luck. All needed appointments for a simple oil change and tire rotation yet they still have the vehicle for 2+ hours. For an oil change? Really? I will never by a KIA again!

I purchased my sorento in 1/2010 I have had problems with sunroof not being fitted correctly and constant problems with Gas Mileage, Automatic AC, front seats not being secured properly and most recently Transmission problems. I have accumulated 15000 miles already and this week my car started out of nowhere slipping gears and revving unintentionally and even chirping the tires from each gear took it to a locale dealership and was provided with a rental car (dodge avenger) and notified i needed a new transmission after 15,000 miles Ive never experienced something like this and will no longer recommend or promote any Kia products. I was told it would be 2 weeks until i get my car. We will see

After walking out of one extra-mark-up-hugging dealer ($2000) struck a reasonable deal with a smarter dealer. The vehicle is really a great value for the price right around $30K. Ours has the Limited/Premium II package with most of the bells and whistles. Ride is quiet and comfortable. Handling and road feel via the rack & pinion steering is very competitive for the class. It is roomy and thoughtfully laid out with plenty of cargo space (we dont use the third row seat). The V6 supplies more than enough power and torque. Fuel economy is competitive. We love the panoramic sun roof. We are very happy with the car. Kia has hit a home run and its BUILT IN AMERICA! Bravo Kia!

  • Like My Husband Its Looks Good, Performs Well but Has Some Kinks - 2011 Kia Sorento

I purchased my 2011 Kia Sorento in March 2010. It served my purpose. I wanted an SUV with third row seating, high miles per gallon and didnt drain my bank account. After lots of research and shopping I chose the 2011 Sorento. I liked it from the driving a lot. I especially enjoyed the free satellite radio for 6 months, the rear camera/back-up sensor, bluetooth mobile phone feature and the eco-fuel feature. I continue to really enjoy driving my vehicle to this day eventhough there have been some annoying small things that have happened like the turning signal, dashboard lights and now the drivers window have malfunctioned. Overall, it has served its purpose and we feel satisfied and safe.

Well 700 miles on 1st trip on freeways. 19.5 mpg local 30 mpg @60 mph 26 mpg @ 70 mpg with 39 psi tire pressure. Tracking not too good. I blame this on the Kumho tires as I had the same problem with a T&C van when I put Kumho tires on front. A possible bad strut shock on right side that is noisy on around town on little bumps. Dealer could find nothing wrong. Will try another dealer later. Some sharp corners on doors that Kia should sand down before painting. The chrome bezels around instrument cluster, had to put tape to cover them as the sun was blinding when it reflected off them. The red colored information displays are hard to read and should not be able to be adjusted with dimmer

  • Excellent Car - Best Bang for the Buck - 2011 Kia Sorento

I reviewed the Sorento all models, drove the Sportage LX, EX, SX, looked at the Honda CRV, Nissan Murano S, SV, SL. You cannot touch a Murano with leather and navigation / bluetooth for under $40,000, the Honda CRV doesnt come close, forget the RAV4 thats a tin can in comparatively Once I drove the Sorento SX, looked at the price tag coupled with the bumper-bumper 5/60,000 & 10/100K power train warranty, no brainer! I traded in my sporty Honda Accord EX-L with kicking zippy engine, excellent interior quality knowing that for $17 more a month and almost the same fuel economy I could have a brand new long warranty vehicle that is roomy, comfortable, powerful, and snazzy looking.
