So far so good - 2011 Kia Sorento
By mack - January 14 - 4:56 pm2011 sorento after 4 months has performed flawlessly. Mileage has avg 26 mpg on country roads. 4 cyl has ad power and acceleration. No problems in 4000 miles. Very happy with it.

More fun than it looks - 2011 Kia Sorento
By David J. Phoenix - December 26 - 9:13 pmI bought a new Sorento because it is built in my county in Kias first American plant. The styling is head- turning and a far cry from the basic designs that Kia first brought to this country. The interior is modern and has a premium feel, especially with all the controls on the steering- wheel, including Bluetooth (which is standard). The test drive on a winding road showed the car to be agile but never. The 2.4L engine also had plenty of guts to easily complete any two- lane overtaking moves asked of it. The three-hour ride home from the dealer revealed the car to also be an excellent long distance car as well. Fun to drive + Long distance comfort + lots of gadgets as standard = a great car.

Excellent Car and Amazing Value - 2011 Kia Sorento
By lug1115 - December 17 - 7:13 amPicked up a fully loaded EX V6 AWD and it is truly a great car. And its not only the price; the car can go toe to toe with any other car in its class and win. The fact that it is thousands less than competing vehicles is just icing on the cake. I did a significant amount of research on the Sorento and other CUVs in its class, and none of the others came close to what the Sorento could offer, both in terms of features as well as price. As other reviewers here on Edmunds and elsewhere have noted, the ride is firm, but it is controlled; its not the bone-jarring sea-saw of a ride others have made it out to be. As a near mid-size crossover, it handles as it should and exceeds expectations!

Thats a KIA! - 2011 Kia Sorento
By RonB - November 13 - 9:53 amI have had my Sorento now for a little over a month. I am still being surprised daily at how nice this vehicle is. I am getting an avg of 21 mpg, mostly city driving. The power is comical in the fact that there is so much of it. A couple of nit pick items have popped up. Annoying buzz/rattle from dash on certain road surfaces. Slight vibration felt when slow left turns are used, I suspect tire noise. Other than theses extremely minor issues all is great with the Sorento. I actually have people ask if it is a new Acura MDX!

2011 Kia Sorento - Base Model - 2011 Kia Sorento
By newvwdriver - November 9 - 10:13 pmI bought my 2011 Kia Sorento (base model with manual transmission) in February, 2011. So far I love it. However, there is one glitch that maybe other Kia owners have noticed. It is with Kias automatic locking system. Never ever leave your keys in the ignition for any period of time when leaving! Kia automatically locks you out after a short period of time. It has happened to me twice so far. I asked the Kia owner about this and he said it has happened to him twice, so beware..... I have been locked out twice.

Another KIA with poor MPG... - 2011 Kia Sorento
By padriver1979 - October 23 - 9:17 pmMy wife and I purchased a Spicy Red 2011 Kia Sorento LX AWD in March 2010. The vehicle has 16,000 miles on it and we have yet to see over 20 mpg on a full tank of gas 50 city/50% highway. The original sticker said 21-28. The EPA changed the ratings for the 2012 and 2013 Sorentos I believe but not the 2011 models. Why? I contacted my local dealership and they said that the AWD 4 cyl should not even be sold in two cities--SF and Pgh due to the amount of hills. I would hate to see what the V6 gets if a 4 cyl is getting 20 in mixed driving conditions. In 2012 we leased a 2013 Optima LX thinking that perhaps Kias MPG on sedans would be better. False--19/20mpg. Buyer beware of Kia!

Sweeeeeeet Vehicle - 2011 Kia Sorento
By guppee - September 30 - 2:59 pmPurchased Sorento SX AWD in Ebony Blk to replace 06 Sportage EX AWD. Had no problems w/ Sportage, but wanted something a little roomier.So far,(1800 mi.),decision was GREAT! Getting 2 MPG better overall with Sorento than smaller Sportage and performance is far better. Some other reviews of EX and LX models complain of harsh/stiff ride, but the DFD shocks on SX must take care of that, as ride/handling is terrific. Very good value,as any comparable vehicles with same equipment/features run $6--8k more.

By HappyOwner - September 4 - 6:06 pmWeve owned the Sorento for about a month now and we love it! We got the premium and limited package so it has all of the bells and whistles. I cant beleive how much car we got for our money. They are selling these vehicles way to cheap. In the end nothing could even compare to the value and styling both interior and exterior or the Sorento. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone in the market for a new small size SUV.

By kiareview - September 3 - 10:30 pmSo happy with my new Sorento! Traded in my 2006 Sorento for this major improvement. 4 cylinder AWD has more than enough power to get up Seattle hills. Cant wait to go test it out in the snow. Love the standard features of bluetooth, steering wheel controls, and ipod dock. You MUST get the convenience package! An extra $500 bucks or so gets you fog lights, roof rack, back up sensors, and a back up camera in the rear view mirror. After all of the rebates, loyalty discount, and dealer cash, I was able to get out the door for just over $20,000. Bought on last day of the month too.

By e_today - September 3 - 8:33 pmThis is our first Kia. We have been a Ford and Dodge only family. Since the Sorento is USA made I felt better about the branding issue. This new Sorento 2011 is really different and superior than the 2009, which we compared side by side. Kia skipped 2010 production. This car is a crossover and compares to the Ford Flex and Rav4. The big difference is price, about 30% more bang with Kia. Read the Edmunds review about the Kia 2011 Sorento, it is similar to my opinion. Smaller engine power was not enough to keep me from buying, and hope to get 24 Average mpg. We bought the LX with convienience package. Be sure to check KIA web site for special offers, they have many special offers.
