  • Suspension rattle - 2011 Kia Sorento

I just talked to a Kia rep for consumers affairs and explained to her that I thought the suspension is too hard and rattles in the back. After reviewing other reviews I realized this is the number one concern of most people. In addition, the tires are way too hard and do not help the suspension system. So far, the rest is ok.

You couldnt pay me to drive another one of these. My wife and I both purchased our own Sorentos. Each Sorento shares the same problems. These problems include transmission, engine, interior trim, electrical, body, and brake problems. The transmission slips, jolts, and resists the movement of the car. The engine sometimes misfires and makes a loud ticking noise. The interior trim doesnt line up and easily pops off. The headlights cut out and the backup cam doesnt always work. The body panels dont line up the way they should. The brakes are spongy and caused my wife to get in an accident, rear ending a Focus at 10mph, costing $4000 of damage.

Have 4500 miles on my 2011 Sorento and just barely still have the fillings in my teeth. Over city streets it feels like the suspension is going to fail. Ive contacted Kia. many times and their answer is that a fix hasnt been issued yet for the suspension. I guess they will wait long enough for me to get upset enough and sell the car then their off the hook. The car has a lot of nice features but driving city streets everyday comfortably isnt one of them. If you experience the same problem contact Kia and complain.

  • Not impressed in Nashville - 2011 Kia Sorento

After an hour and half of us signing on the dotted line, we had a check engine light come on. When you read the manual it says its related to the omission sensor. After 3 months and many visits to the dealer, we (dealer/manufacturer) think the problem has been resolved. Kia sent a field engineer to the dealer who spent, in total, 3 days trying different things and replacing several parts. Also, over the course of these three months we had other issues arise. The backup camera picture was distorted at times. The DVD player didnt work. The Auto climate control function went out and makes a rattling noise. And the list goes on and on. First time buying a Kia and not impressed.

  • Wife loves the KIA - 2011 Kia Sorento

We love the KIA, the look and warranty is what got me interested.I had looked at the HIGHLANDER and ARCADIA.The wife (since she drives it more) feels more comfortable in the KIA compared to the ARCADIA and we like the body style and looks better than the HIGHLANDER along the warranty and price the KIA won. PROBLEM, within 2 months bad shock and rear tire was faulty, I had to pay for the tire since the manufacturer has no warranty. nether were on the dealer shelf so that meant extra trip to the dealer and vehicle downtime. We were told that the spare tire was full size, wrong it is a donut, 55 mile per hour made the trips to the dealer longer.had to order the cargo cover, not what the salesman said

Bought the EX-V6 AWD in June so far have 3800 trouble free enjoyable miles on it. Been on a couple day trips with the vehicle and have loved the ride, the mileage and value. We avg 25.7 mpg on 70-72 mph interstate driving and 27.5 at 55- 60mph. Fun to drive and has many great features. No problems with the Sorento what so ever. Id always opt for the V6.

  • Base Model Bargain - 2011 Kia Sorento

I printed out a coupon for 25 dollar gift card if you test drove a new Sorento. I drove one and bought it on the spot. With the owner loyalty and cash back rebates, along with another 2 grand off from the dealer, I walked out of the door for 18,500. That price included sales tax, plates, doc fees, and accessory floor mats.

  • Very Impresive - 2011 Kia Sorento

Extremely impressed with the vehicle and all the base options that came with it, heated seats, back up camera, 3 rows of seats, 17 inch wheels. It drives over bumps more like a truck, but around corners is amazing. The ground clearance is just as good as my old jeep. I think they know they built a good product especially by backing it with a full bumper to bumper 100/10 warranty. I love this vehicle.

  • Extrememly Pleased - 2011 Kia Sorento

Bought the EX V-6 August 18th. Have approx. 1600 miles on it. Love everything about my Sorento. It is black with black leather. Originally looked at the Equinox and decided Kia was a better fit for me. I just felt more comfortable in it compared to the other. Love the leather seats, panoramic sunroof, fit, finish, and comfort. Mileage has been around 22 mpg and thats just beebopping from here to there, not many highway miles yet. Has everything I wanted at a reasonable price. Now notice there is an SX line and a couple new colors. Would have liked to had the choice to go with an SX but still would have chosen my EX.
