An AM/FM/CD stereo and a tilt steering wheel are now standard on all 2004 Jeep Wrangler models. A new aluminum wheel design is standard on Sahara models and optional on Sport models. Right-hand-drive versions are also available for fleet utility service. A Columbia Edition option package is also new for 2004.
- Cheap, fun to drive, classic styling, go-anywhere capability.

By jason D - September 22 - 10:00 amThe wrangler is the ultimate fun machine. As well as the ultimate build machine!!!! Its the most bolt on vehicle available!!!! I recomend the X for anyone thats goiing to use it as a daily driver-a rock crawler build up. Come on its $6000 less than the rubicon!!!!

Its a Jeep - 2004 Jeep Wrangler
By Pratt - September 10 - 5:36 pmI just bought this January 2010 as my first Jeep (SE trim, 5-speed manual). Overall I dig it, but I you gotta be sort of a Jeep fan to in my opinion. The ride is harsh (more bumpy than the average car, and the wind noise can be unbearable if youre just getting out of a Cobalt or anything other quiet car ride). On the other hand, from what Ive seen, theyre pretty reliable (I know mine is), and off roading is great alongside the many many accessories from tops to lift kits, you name it, theres probably an accessory for the jeep and thats always great!

By yawlhangon - August 4 - 10:00 amBecause this was my 1st Jeep (congradualations) (thank you very much) I did a considerable amount of research before making the purchase And from all ive heard I expected to get in this thing and feel like I was laying on a bed of nails during earthquake A lot of people are really overdramatizing the supposable lack of comfort in a Jeep. I realize that its all in the eye (or back) of the beholder but these people must have back trouble or somthing. Sure its no Buick Regal or Pontiac Bonneville but I dont see no call to exagerate. Sure it may not be as comfortable as a luxury sedan but its certainly not uncomfotable. Jeep does a fine job.

Rubi Red is Fun... a great Jeep - 2004 Jeep Wrangler
By vwnb99 - July 27 - 5:56 pmThe Jeep is a blast. Rides much better than my 1990 SE. I am happy with the purchase, use it mostly to go to and from work (live in the country) and off road now and then. The ride is a bit jittery on secondary roads and require me to hold onto the wheel tight. The driving position is very uncomfortable. My left arm gets tired holding the wheel and I feel boxed in with the door right on my shoulder. The loop door handle is useless. The gas mileage is horrible (14.36 average), the 5 speed shifts like a old farm tractor. In 2nd to 3rd gear the motor is guttless. The 7 speaker stereo system is poor. But even with all these little annoyances, the RUBI is a blast to drive.

By Jeep Wave - July 2 - 5:13 pmThe Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is extremely fun to drive and the little extra cargo room the Unlimited offers goes a long way. I plan to get a 3" lift and put some 34" tires on...which the wife is against but what does she know. Mine came with a grille guard and fog lights which look very nice.

By ColeP - June 27 - 2:00 amI love my Jeep, unfortunately my wife hates it. Thats the story of life. Cars are a bad investment, but a Jeep is different. It can get you or others out of sticky situations, and as far as an SUV nothing could be more fun to drive. Its just not for everybody. Dont speed or race around in it, even though they try to make the new ones feel like cars, they are far from it, and they should stay that way. Make sure you can trust your mechanic, I found that mine had been running with no transmission fluid for 3 years, when I checked the fluid level myself, and the mechanic who filled it up for me forgot to secure the skidplate to the tranny. These people....

Cheaper and as capable as a Hummer - 2004 Jeep Wrangler
By SSG Casper - June 22 - 10:00 amBought my Rubicon as a wedding gift to ourselves in 2002. Great wedding gift. Its a rough ride and truck like, the way Jeeps are meant to be. Never expected to ride like a BMW. Having many of the upgrades from the factory saved from trying to upgrade myself and messing it up or finding someone to do it right. In the Army for 14yrs, and taught soldiers how to drive Hummers and larger vehicles. I can say the Rubicon is as capable as Hummer. And at a lot lower cost. But never been to a Jamboree though. Looking forward to one after coming back form Iraq.

By Jeff D. - June 4 - 5:26 pmMy first GP, a 2004 Jeep Wrangler SE 4 cylinder, 4WD, with soft top and hard doors, has been reliable, versatile, and just plain fun. Its a blast for all seasons ... goes anywhere in the snow (though ice is always tricky) ... doesnt leak in the heaviest of rain ... pulls my 16 ft. boat up a bumpy ramp with ease (especially using 1st gear in 4WD low )... and doesnt need air conditioning (just take the windows out on a hot day or lower the top). However, I do suggest that you keep both hands on the wheel in windy and rainy conditions because of the short wheelbase and wider tires. Theres plenty of heat in winter and you can adjust the vents to cover your needs. It has comfortable seats too.

Great buy - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

My first Jeep was a base model purchased new with a four cylinder - and was slow to accelerate (also, the mileage was awful - 13mpg all around - and I am not an aggresive driver). In addition, it was loud with the softtop. With the six cylinder the power is abundant and the mileage is better (Overall average around 18mpg). Fun to drive - a head turner. Ride in lap of luxury with the Sahara without the expense of the exotic imports. Insurance is low, re-sale high. Reasonable sound levels with the hard top. Stock CD/Stereo is sweet.
