The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

This is my first Hyandai and I must say I am so pleased. Its more than I expected and a good looker many stop to look at this suv. I get a new car every two or three years and I would imagine that this company will get my attention all the time. I was also impressed with the management of the dealership I purchased my car from.

This my first SUV- traded in my 2000 Mustang for more room and practicality. My dogs love it- I fold the back seats flat and they plenty of rooms to roam, and dont have to put their paws on the door handles! Very comfortable drive- I took it on a lengthy road trip, and didnt have an aching back when I got to my destination. Very fun to drive, and handles extremely well. Im extremely happy with my new investment!

This vehicle has been with us for 1 month and there is a problem with it surging. The engine has died several times. It has been with the dealership for almost a week now. No one has bothered to diagnose the problem as of yet. The dealership did not want to give up a loaner in the meantime. we had to contact Hyundai to get the dealership to give a loaner while this one is being serviced. The dealership has only 2 techs. So they are backed up on service. All dealerships in the area are backed up and the wait time is always at least 2 weeks. What do you think? 1 month of ownership, 1400 miles, still in shop after 1 week waiting for repair, dealership making a bad situation worse.

Solid well built SUV, had a RAV4 which was great but underpowered. This has everything you could want except power seats and NAV system but at a price you cannot beat at any other make, best bang for the buck, will put the others to shame.

  • The best SUV yet - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We tried every other SUV vehicle in its class (Honda, toyota, Saturn) and this SUV blew them all away. It is comfortable, good gas mileage (22-24, great to look at and is an all-around great buy. If you want a fantastic SUV, look no further this is it!!!

  • Hyundai is here to stay - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This is a great little SUV. So roomy and comfortable seating too. The warranty is unbeatable and proves that Hyundai is confident in its product. The standard ammenities that it comes with just surpass all others (cd, 8 airbags, heated mirrors, back defroster) just to name a few. The gas mileage is average for an SUV. Not great, but then again your not driving a compact 4 cyl car either. The dealership I dealt with was wonderful- not pushy or high- pressure. I foresee many Hyundais in my future. Actually have my sights on the new 06 Accent.

  • What a ride - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This is a wonderful vehicle. It has as much room for the driver as my Expedition. Drives like a sports car. The all wheel, 4 wheel drive option is quite surprising. Had the vehicle in the snow, no problems. The sound systems is very nice.

  • Wow! Way to go Hyundai! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

We purchased our new Tucson on 4/10/05. And all I can say is WOW! This tiny vehicle is big on the inside, and small on price. We traded in our 2003 Elantra GLS GT and we are completely satisfied. I was already used to good pick-up and power from having the GT,but I didnt think they could do better. We live in the Mts. of PA and the Elantra never really handle the inclines that well, but the Tucson rips up the road without a problem. Previous reviews about the Tucson that said the gas mileage was not good, but I disagree. Gas mileage is comparable with everyone else. At todays gas prices all gas mileage seems bad. Weve had it for 4 days now, and put on 800 miles. I love this car.

  • Love my 05 Tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Ive driven 05 Tucson for 4+ years now, and Ive been very happy. So far just changing wears and tears like tires, breaks, oils, wipers, belts, etc. No major problems at all so far after 71,000 miles. My old Volvo usually cost me annually $2-3000 for major repairs with constant halts on highways. Happy to get rid of it. Living in East coast, went through a few big snow storms, and no problems at all with 2WD(front), and ETS always helped me staying on the road. I also took many long trips to Chicago, Main, Virginia, etc, and very comfortable with 5 people in the car with luggage. I also used this car a lot for moving, excellent when frnt&rear seats completely go plat, lots of cargo space.

With in the first 1500 miles I had to take my wife to a Philadelphia hospital.Thats a 250 mile round trip for me. The Tucson was great on the highway and even better driving in downtown Philly. I would recomend this small SUV to anyone.
