This Year's Model Updates:

The Odyssey gains an intermittent rear window wiper this year, as well as an auto up-and-down driver-side window.

Pros:
  • Excellent crash test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system.
Cons:
  • Quality of some interior materials could be better, high demand limits negotiating possibilities.

  • Hate it, but I love this Minivan - 2003 Honda Odyssey

I was one of those folks: "Ill never drive a minivan." But I do...and its SO convenient...and the Odyssey is wonderful. Its got pick-up like a car, and convenience that I never dreamed of having. When my boys are older, I confess, Ill dump it for a "regular" vehicle, but for now...it cant be beat!

  • No more Hondas! - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have owned over 7 Hondas in the last 10 years and am thoroughly dissapointed with my 03 EX w/DVD. Only 37k to date All of this fun for a $29000 van: 1. Michelin tires-junk after 20k w/rotations. 2. replaced trans 2x 3. TCS light-intermittent 4. lt slider-came off the track 5. poor gas mileage 6. ck engine light-numerous occasions 7. battery after 2000 miles Next van will definitely not be a Honda.

  • Good Minivan...but need more improvement - 2003 Honda Odyssey

I purchased the 2003 Ody EX-L. It was great to drive it with more horse power and big interior room. Reverse sensor is useless and dealer included into the MSRP. The sound is really annoying my children when dring backward. I have been driving a car for 10 years without reversed sensor and it is OK to me.

  • Pretty Darn Good Overall - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Owner for 6 mos, 9,000 miles. Love the smooth power, quickness, stable handling and relative (to our Windstar) quietness. Fold-down seat is very handy. Drivers seat uncomfortable. Sound system is substandard. Sliding door is always a problem - sticks so I have to get out and yank so kids can get in. In fact, would not open when we picked up at the dealer. Also grime on the interior and ripped fabric at delivery - none of which was rectified by dealer. However, if I get the mechanical reliability experience and longevity that I hear so much about, I will be very happy regardless.

  • So far, so good - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Ive been driving my 02 Odyssey EX-L for 17 months now. I love the power and the very attractive interior. No major problems thus far, though we are only at 13000 miles. My only complaints would be that the drivers side heated seat barely heats, the side doors are starting to rattle a little, and it was way to easy for me to crack the front bumper cover on a curb.

  • Odyssey Transmission Plague - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Great van with one huge exception! Transmission failed at 22K new one on the way. A review of owner forums has revealed that this is an issue that Honda has either been able to fix or refuses (you would have think I purchased a Ford. I have read reviews that this is happening even with the 2005 model Odysseys. What gives Honda?

  • Honda Known Quality - Not Quite - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have been a Honda fan since 1990 - first Accord. I have had a total of five Hondas. Issues w/current 03 Odyssey: "engaging" noise w/back calipers (brakes) - Honda response: normal "slipping" of transmission seems to be looking for first - Honda response: normal characteristic of new five speed transmission "sputtering" when RPM between 1500 and 2000 - Honda response: EGR valve, replaced didnt help. Interior is awesome - got leather w/dvd road noise still pronounced, but overall comfort very nice. Van has plenty of power fuel economy not bad either (19 town and 26 on highway). Not very pleased at all w/customer service at Honda dealership - nothing seems to be Hondas fault!

  • Good van - 2003 Honda Odyssey

We just picked up this van last week. EX with leather, DVD. We love everything about the van, except the seats, I think they are the most uncomfortable seats Ive ever sat on. Im surprised others rate the comfort as high??? The engines awesome though!

  • 2003 Honda Odyssey - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Purchased for a 2003 Honda Odyssey EX 4dr Minivan w/Navigation for $27,800. Added an aftermarket DVD entertainment system. Had some initial problems as the people who installed the DVD/TV shorted out the dash by connecting the ground wire to the dash lights. After that it has been smooth sailing. This car drives and handles great. The ride is a bit less luxurios than the Town & Country limited, my other mini-van, but the handling is superior. The touch screen navigation system is unbelieveable. Punch in a businesses phone number and away you go. Overall a great mini-van for the price.

  • If you need performance, look no further - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

The Odyssey is a great van mostly due to the 3.5L VTEC V6, the great sound system, & the carrying capacity. If you have to drive a minivan, the Odyssey is it, the performance even knocks out some sedans. The power sliding doors are also a very nice add-on. Honda has done a great job with this vehicle, and I hope they continue with it for a long time.
