The Odyssey gains an intermittent rear window wiper this year, as well as an auto up-and-down driver-side window.

Pros:
  • Excellent crash test scores, huge interior, fold-flat third-row seat, powerful V6, optional navigation and entertainment system.
Cons:
  • Quality of some interior materials could be better, high demand limits negotiating possibilities.

  • Love my van! - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Its been almost a year now since I purchased my Honda Odyssey. I really have enjoyed this vehicle. Its great being a single mom. I have the room to haul around things for my daughter. Take her friends to the mall, etc. Its a very comfortable ride!

  • Awesome Van - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Had this van for several weeks and really love it!! The DVD system is wonderful to keep kids entertained and the wireless headphones are great for them to listen to a movie while you are listening to the radio or a CD up front. We owned a Plymouth Grand Voyager and what a piece of junk!!! One problem after another. This is the 3rd Honda we have owned and so far we have never been disappointed. Decided to get rid of the Plymouth and return back to a Honda for dependability.

  • On my 11th Honda - 2003 Honda Odyssey

We purchased our Van new in October, 02 This is our second Odyssey. We have had 95,000 miles of reliability and comfort for my family. Best van for quality and price. Have had no issues with transmission except for recall to add a trans fluid pumping system, (one day at the Honda spa). Side doors track need to be lubricated and adjusted to so they opperate correctly. Seems to be more of an issue in the colder months.

  • Engine & Road Noise and Vibration - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Odyssey has powerful engine. But the engine and road noise is unacceptable. When I bought this LX model, it even came with the poor tires, Bridgestone. When drived above 70mph, the steering wheel is vibrating. I took it to the dealer, and they cannot feel anything wrong. The vehicle is also vibrating while cold start while the speed is lower to 1000rpm, it is not normal. The brake also produced noise while cold start. The noise level is high and make me embarrassed. Borrowed a 03 Dodge minivan from my friend and test drive, I was really suprised the low noise level inside. This Dodge minivan is not high end and even less features than Odyssey.

Ijust bought my van. I can from A Ford Windstar. It rides much smoother than the windstar. I love the bucket seats for my two kids.

  • Ups and downs - 2003 Honda Odyssey

After long debate over the Kia Sedona and the Honda I finally went with Honda. So far, bad choice. Car pulls to the left in all conditions and while five weeks and tons of letters and phone calls yielded a Honda field technician to "make some adjustments" the car is still not right. Now getting clunks in transmission randomly at start up and Ive read about some transmission issues. I will not keep car past warranty. Wish I took a chance on the Kia. Still think the Honda is the best designed, but no longer am awed by Honda reliabilty or service repuation--at least I did not experience it!

  • The Best - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Great vehicle and people mover. I have a 2000 Odyssey EX w/about 47,000 miles on it. Its used constantly especially for carpooling and running around. The 2003 Odysseys are even better w/more horsepower, better brakes and even more refinement.

  • Great Van - 2003 Honda Odyssey

I drive this car into the ground. We have the EX with the entertainment package. It is absolutely wonderful to travel in with children and family pets. We had to order it a few months in advance just to get one which was disappointing, but it was worth the wait. I did research on all the mini- van before purchasing this one. It had the best service record, milage, horsepower and amenities. The magic seat is so convenient and makes hauling cargo so easy. I would purchase it again after we wear this one out!!!

  • Great Vehicle, But One Complaint - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

We purchased an 03 Odyssey EX-L in June of 2005. It was practically new (6000 miles). So far, we have put nearly 3000 miles on it, including a family trip to Pennsylvania, and it has been absolutely perfect. My only complaint with the Odyssey is that the interior is a little rattly. When the road is somewhat bumpy, quite common in NYC, the interior shimmies and shakes and rattles. I had a 97 Accord once and it never rattled like that. I dont know whether this is endemic with minivans or just my vehicle. Otherwise, its a great vehicle, fun to drive, plenty of power and with numerous amenities. Typical Honda. I rate it 8 out of 10 overall.
