  • Overpriced & not economical - 2003 Honda Odyssey

This is my first Honda vehicle. I have had an ongoing problem when I have to remove my foot from the gas pedal and the rpms drop between from 2 to about 1 1/2 the vehicle acts like it is going to cut off. I have had it worked on one time and am getting ready to take it back again. The only other issue I have at this time is the poor gas mileage. Due to the high price of gas I can barely afford the gas to drive it! I drive approximately 300 miles per week mostly city and I am spending $40-60 a week in gas. In addition to the payment I am car poor!!!!

  • Noisy Cluncker! Not happy. - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Our van has been making clunking noise from the rear train since the day we bought it last year. The dealer explained that it is a characteristic of the rear brakes, and has no solution. Someting about the rear brake pads being free to move. Hondas solution is that the customer has to live with it. The service supervisor even xeroxed the page from the Honda service bulletin that said that you can make the customer go away by inserting a cut-up business card in the brake caliper. (e-mail me for a copy) They figure that this will silence the noise long enough for the customer to drive away! My 120,000+ mile Chrysler van never made any such noise.

  • Surprised - 2003 Honda Odyssey

We really like the room and versatility, but frankly were surprised at the many features lacking for this price point. For example, it does not have the following: trip computer, outside temperature gauge, compass, auto lights, leather wrapped steering wheel, seat memory, backup sensors, CD changer, or good stereo system. On top of this, it comes with a rather skimpy warranty (3yr/36k miles). Many vehicles we looked at came with these features and others, but in the end, it was Hondas reputation for quality that sold us. I guest Ill just have to wait and see if this reputation is deserved. So far so good.

  • Pulling left at highway speeds - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I have experienced the car pulling left at highway speeds especially when in the passing lanes. Honda has had the car 2 times and tell me they test drive it with having the same problem. I would like to know if anybody else is havig the same problem. I am going to request a technician ride with me. Other than that the vechicle performs great.

  • So-So - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Very dissatisified with the fuel mileage. 12 city and 16 highway. Our 94 Aerostar with all wheel drive did much better and would run circles around our Odyssey. Has developed a real bad clunking sound from the rear brakes/suspension. Typical dearlership babble, "they all do that". We have 22,000 miles on it now and it has developed several rattles, clunks and other loose sound from both the front and rear suspensions and other areas under the van. I have no doubt that the engine and drivetrain will last 250,000 miles or more, but I am wondering if the rest of the vehicle will last as long?

  • Best Van Ever! - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

This is our second Odyssey. Our first was a 2000 EX. This new one is a huge improvement over the 99-01 Odysseys. It has much more power, a better ride, better handling, more features, and less problems. We had the Honda accessory DVD player installed. Its a must have for any family on a road trip.

  • Great family minivan - 2003 Honda Odyssey

Overall nice car. Perfect for a growing family and all the gear. The Odyssey is great for around town and wonderful on long trips.

  • 2003 Honda Odyssey - 2003 Honda Odyssey

The 2003 Honday Odyssey is perfect except for one thing: road noise thru the sliding doors. Ive had my doors checked (the noise thru the passenger door being particularly loud) by the dealership I purchased it from and they say everything is normal. The front passenger often cannot hear a normal conversation in the van due to the noise coming into thru the sliding door behind him. Ive talked to other Odyssey owners and they say its not a problem for them.

  • Not a van person - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I am not a van person, in the past if it had more than two doors it was just too big. Now, with 4 children the mini van is a must. I must say I was very surprised at the drive of the Odyssey. Much to my suprise the feel was very similar to that of my Acura CL. I am not sure how Honda got so much of the truck out and the car feel in but, thanks from a non van person.

  • GOOD FAMILY VEHICLE - 2003 Honda Odyssey
    By -

This is our third Honda product (Accord and Acura Legend). As usual, Honda seems to have it figured out "under the hood" but could use some assistance with interior design and other mechanical features. Wife and children love the vehicle. I enjoy the drive when given the opportunity.
