Great Car - 2003 Honda Civic
By pvaultguy - November 24 - 10:58 amGreat economical car. Great fuel economy and low cost of ownership. I have had no problems with this car. Very reliable. The ride is a little firm but it is the Civic not the Accord. Acceleration is decent. Parking is very easy. The interior is very nice. The back seat has decent room for a coupe. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for an economical and reliable car.

After 40,000 miles... - 2003 Honda Civic
By tlanci - November 11 - 10:00 amAfter 40,000 miles, my Hybrid is still a solid, comfortable ride. Not a performance vehicle, but a good commuter car. I have been somewhat disappointed in mileage compared to the ads/EPA. On my 80 mile round-trip flat highway commute (70-80mph) the car averages 38mpg. Slowing down really makes a difference, at 55 mph, it gets closer to 52mpg. Im still having fun learning to tweak the mileage, and I am slowing down. So far, great reliability, no mechanical problems at all.

You can do better for the money - 2003 Honda Civic
By JohnnyK - November 3 - 11:47 pmMy 1987 Civic was a much better car: better MPG, rode smoother, was much quieter, had better ventilation through the dash and had more comfortable seats. This car is loud on the road (and Ive had two sets of tires - my Jeep was quieter!). I cant stand how this thing locks itself even after opening the trunk, and the seats are more sporty than comfy. The stereo is nice. We just bought a 1986 Toyota pickup that rides better and is quieter as well. Im trading this car in for a Camry or a Mercury Grand Marquis. Never again will I buy a Civic. Sure, its reliable, but so are most cars these days. My friends Accord, not much better. Sorry Honda.

more fun than a gas pump - 2003 Honda Civic
By jcpaciera - October 16 - 10:00 amgreat mmileage, all instruments are in the right place cept for one. the gear shift can go into a low gear when you dont want it to and the site of the reading on shift lever is the only hard thing to find in the car. having no sound at stop lights is great. my oil plug came out while doing 55 mph and all went well.it shut down and wouldnt restart. i luv it.

Like a toy car - 2003 Honda Civic
By terri - October 16 - 10:00 amThe civic is an easy car to drive and operate, I love it. You will feel bumps, but that is the only fallback on this car. It is roomy inside and I am not short, I have a lot of head and leg room.

Real nice, but..........mileage......... - 2003 Honda Civic
By exGMbuyer - October 4 - 2:00 amHandles good, everything ok, but I am not getting the gas mileage. I am averaging only 25-27 in combined city and highway. On highway only - 31.

It is what it is... - 2003 Honda Civic
By kujhawk80 - September 9 - 10:00 amOverall, I am pleased. I had owned a 99 Civic Ex coupe for 2.5 yrs and switched to a 6 cyl Jeep Wrangler. After only 4 months of owning the Jeep I found my favorite hangout to be the service dept, so I decided to trade. The civic is much as I had remembered: an affordable, sporty, fuel efficient auto with generic styling, especially the rear. The seats are comfortable, just needs some additional power to challenge the larger bolsters. Overall, it does the job and then some... reliable, peppy, and fun...you wont be let down.

Good car, but loud noise - 2003 Honda Civic
By maomi - September 9 - 10:00 amI got my new civic EX sedan and like it so far. I drove an old 88 honda Accord and there are no AC and radio in it. Thats why I feel the difference immediately. Dont understand why there is only one cup holder for back seat people.

Great Car But Has Transmission Issues - 2003 Honda Civic
By tinkbot - August 12 - 11:54 amI have a 2003 Civic and currently have 83,000 miles on it. I do all maintenance and oil changes as recommended in the owners manual. About 6 months ago I noticed the automatic transmission was having problems shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and from 3rd to 4th. Transmission is now having major issues accelerating and going over 60 mph. My mechanic says the transmission is slowly dying and has to be replaced. Cost will be around $3,000. WHAT!?! This car is only 6 years old. A transmission shouldnt have to be replaced before 150,000+ miles and especially not on a Honda. Honda whats happened to you? Buyer beware!
