North American 2002 Civic Si Disappoints - 2003 Honda Civic
By RMC - April 8 - 2:00 amI have owned six Honda Civic hatchbacks including this one. This one pleases me because of its design, build quality and presumed reliability, but disappoints greatly in straight-line acceleration. Honda has no right calling this a performance car when it weighs 2750 lbs, has only 160 hp, and has such anemic 0-60 and 1/4 mile times! I finally broke down and bought it as a new one-year-old car because the dealer discounted it so heavily (sales must have been poor). I do not recommend this car to anyone who is looking for lively acceleration! I will have to add my own hp improvements.

Problems with Hybrid - 2003 Honda Civic
By scomom - March 17 - 6:54 pmHaving gone from a Jeep Wrangler to this car, I was not impressed w/the drive. Just very plain. It did get great mileage, but there are issues w/this car that are hard to find. The CVT transmission is bad and Honda avoided a recall by doing an extended warranty. It will not apply, however, if you have a salvage title like me. But apart from the $3100 transmission at 87k miles, the commutation sensor went out in about 4 months...$1300! My advice is to avoid the hybrids. What you save in gas you spend on costly repairs.

This is my civic 2003 - 2003 Honda Civic
By Superino - February 9 - 9:55 pmI bought this car in November 2006 having 14000 miles, now after 15 months I have almost 28000 miles. Since I have the car Im obsessed by the road noise. I put a blanket in the trunk and I changed the Dunlop sp20 fe tires with Michelin x-radial dt, big improvement, tires are not so noisy anymore and dont squeal on turns. Still if I ran more than 65 mph (sometimes less) I can hear the wind, if it rained I have the sensation that I have the doors open and I hear all the noise, when the water is splashing under the car its unbelievable how clear you can hear it. The doors starts to shake when listening music with heavy bass. The car starts to shake when the AC is on. Noisy engine.

My Canadian Honda Civic - 2003 Honda Civic
By GBCOMP_DOT_COM - January 14 - 2:00 amI was not offered or even aware of driver side air bags. I already own a civic 2dr hatchback 96 and LOVE it for its reliability. I decided, why try and find a better car? The civic is the car!!!

Excellent commuter car! - 2003 Honda Civic
By Edmunster - October 18 - 2:00 pmI own/have owned various cars and this is the best commuter car in my experience. Very nice, comfy and easy ride for an economy car. The EX has great head room and the seats are adequate - typical in Hondas. The ergonomic controls are excellent. And you cant beat the gas mileage.

By chuck - October 17 - 10:58 amNever had a problem with the car. Gas mileage is great still get 29 on the highway. Never had it in for any work. I drive it a 100 miles a day and its just as fun to drive now as it was when I first bought it. Ill buy Hondas from now on.

Great Car - but a worse car than pre 01 - 2003 Honda Civic
By gchike - October 15 - 10:00 amHaving owned a 1999 Honda Civic, Im frustated by two things that are extreme pit-peeves of my new 2002 Civic. One, the material SUCKS! It acts like a lint brush, and just as hard to clean. Change the material honda. Second, get rid of the 140MPH Speedodometer!!! That kind of sports- oriented guage belongs in a real sports car e.g. SIs. My daughter is trying to learn to drive, and its difficult for her to tell where the 5mph increments are. Lastly, the new 2002 Civics suspension is too harsh. My teeth chatter everytime I hit a small bump in the road.
