  • 6 months of Driving - 2005 Ford Freestyle

We have owned the Freestyle for 6 months and love the gas mileage; 22 in town and 29 highway. We have gotten as much as 36 mpg at 55 miles per hour. The leather seats are great and very comfortable. Love the air conditiong system, the CD player/radio and speaker system. The backseats fold down flat and we have hauled furniture, lumber, plants etc. from the DIYS stores. You have to get used to the CVS transmission, but it is great for the gas mileage. Great legroom in the backseat and the controls for A/C in the backseat are great for the kids or other adults.

We bought this vehical because we did not want the "stigma" that a mini-van had - mini-vans scream KID-MOBILE - but we wanted the 3rd row seating. It has turned out to have alot of great features I wasnt even looking for. For instance it gets great gas millage, is extreemly comportable to ride in and has great leg room. Ive had passangers comment that the second row of seats is more comfortable and roomy that their Chevy Suburban! Very sure-footed on the highway in varried road conditions and VERY nice AWD for those snow difts.

I havent been on an extended trip yet, but have some limited time on highway. Horse power is adequate. Kids love the room, and the fact all seats are comfortable.

My wife drives all the new cars. I love the way the car drives and the gas economy is great. It feels and rides just as substantial as my old Yukon on the highways. Im gonna buy another Freestyle in January and keep this one for me!

  • A nice surprise - 2005 Ford Freestyle

We were down to the wire for a new small SUV. We test drove the Freestyle first. We test drove other SUVs after (CRV, Element, Mazda Tribute, etc.), but they paled in comparison. We did nothing but talk about the Freestyle for a month before we bought it. It is a lot of fun to drive. So far, it does great in the snow. I am surprised not to see more of this vehicle on the road. Ford needs to get the word out how great this SUV is!

  • One nice all around vehicle - 2005 Ford Freestyle

Nothing but praise for my Freestyle; ease of entry and exit is the best around. good for the grandkids as well as the seniors and room for ALL of their gear.

  • Freestyle Limited Love It - 2005 Ford Freestyle

Love almost every thing about this vehicle. Very nice to drive, feels very solid and tight. Like the fuel economy for a AWD large vehicle, 5-6 mpg better than my Explorer. This vehicle is a bargain vs. other AWD 7 passenger vehicles on the market.

  • MY REVIEW OF THE FORD FREESTYLE - 2005 Ford Freestyle
    By -

My purchase of the Ford Freestyle was consummated in June of 2005. I have been pleased with the performance so far. My previous car was a Ford Windstar van; my wife did not like to drive it. She felt boxed in and did not have good viewing of other traffic. Now with the Freestyle she is comfortable and is ready to drive at any time. My only complaint is driver room. I am 63" and weigh about 230 pounds. I feel a little cramped. The seat needs to go back a little farther and the console feels a bit confining. Otherwise we are very satisfied. I am a little disturbed by Consumer Reports that they always seem to have it in for Ford, saying the reliability is not good.

  • Simply the Best! - 2005 Ford Freestyle
    By -

I have never had so much fun driving! This car is simply amazing. The Continuously Variable Transmission is fantastic. No gears to shift through, so you get a completely smooth ride up and down the speedo. This is the first vehicle Ive had that caters not just to me, but also to my family. The Freestyle is simply the best in breed - hands down. EPA estimates were 19/27. I am seeing an average of 22/30 with my AWD SEL.
