  great ride - 2005 Ford Freestyle

  I have only had this car for two months, and compared to the 2001 Toyota Sienna that I traded in, it is so much more fun to drive and is much quieter and smoother riding than the Sienna. The gas mileage so far is around 21 city driving and 27 highway. The driver power seat adjusts many ways to give you very good visibility. The theater style seating allows the rear passengers a much clearer view, instead of looking at the back of someones head. The CVT transmission works great. It is very efficient. I got used to it right away. You dont feel the gears changing at all, it is just super smooth. The rear seats flip and fold to create a very large flat cargo space in just a few seconds.

  Ive only had this vehicle for a little over 4 weeks. It is fun to drive and has enough power. It has plenty of room for very tall people although when they are 6 feet 7 inches tall you might want to skip the moonroof. Most all of us in the family are tall. With AWD it handles very good in the rain and around corners which is good for me as I have never been comfortable making right turns at higher speeds. The gas mileage is better than an SUV even though it seats 7 comfortable. So far it has been a great vehicle with absolutely no problems. It is easy to get into and out and I love to drive it as do both my very tall sons who now would like to get one.

  So far I love everything about it. It handles like a small car and offers space of a minivan. It is a very classy car and the CVT transmission is very smooth and responsive.

  This is a great all around multi-purpose vehicle. It gives me the versatility of an SUV with the driving manners and afFORDability of a sedan. I have been averaging about 27 mpg city/highway combined with most driving in the city. She rides higher than a car for better visibility. Everything to date (nearly 6,000 miles) has been flawless with no defects or poor workmanship noted. Shes built solidly and with purpose in mind. The ride is very smooth with little if any exterior road noise seeping into the cabin. Handling is great, especially compared to SUVs that like to tip and lean over on corners like my previous Highlander. Best SUV wagon under $50,000. No regrets whatsoever!

  This is an awesome vehicle. I get most of the versatility of an SUV, the ride and fuel efficiency of a sedan and the roominess of a minivan. My whole family loves this vehicle. It has outstanding ride and handling characteristics that far out-perform minivans and SUVs. I also enjoy the 5 star safety rating in all areas (even without the optional side impact air bags), great rollover resistance and it also maxes out the IIHS safety tests too. The Freestyle is also handy at Home Depot because all the seats, except the drivers, fold flat. I traded in an Explorer on lease and now save about 40% gas due to the smaller motor and CVT transmission. It has by far the best third row seats available.

  I never liked the straight 9s and 10s in most reviews, as no car is perfect or even near perfect. This is a real world 1 year of ownership review. This vehicle should make most minivan owners extremely happy with its space, performance & lack of stigma. The Freestyle should also make SUV drivers that dont use their SUVs as off road vehicles happy since performance is better and in most cases there is more space. This vehicle has been fantastic in its first year with no hint of my experience souring. I have traveled with 2 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs for a 2 week vacation. Granted I had to use a cargo bag as the kids are still small & require more stuff. Drove great & fuel economy was an A+.

  We were looking for practical vehicle with 7 seats and good cargo space. I and my wife like to drive cars and really didnt want to have a minivan. Ive tried new Pathfinder, Pilot, 4Runner, Highlander and Explorer. All of them except Highlander have truck feeling driving. Highlander feels underpowered even with V6 engine. On Freestyle after 2 minutes of driving we realized this was exactly what we were looking for! Freestyle handles like an European luxury big car (thanks to Volvo S80 suspension). Even with 7 seats there is enough cargo space in the back. Freestyle feels a little underpowered on starting, but great when speed increased (thanks to CVT). Gas mileage is good for this vehicle.

  Ford has nailed the crossover vehicle. Ingress/egress is perfect. I love the CVT transmission - so smooth and intelligent in keeping the engine in the correct power band. The interior is very comfortable and in good taste. Our Merlot Metallic is gorgeous. It is very well built. The FWD is faster and quieter than the AWD.

  Me and my wife have gone through quite a few vehicles over the past year and none compare to our Freestyle. It is so fun to drive, very dependable, lots of storage space, hardly any complaints, but I do have two. I would like a little more room in the passenger seat up front, and our biggest problem is what to call the darn thing, when we are leaving we dont know what to tell the kids to go get into, the car, the suv, the van , talk about confussing. But other than that we love it its the best driving and best made car, suv, van oh what ever we have ever had

  After owning this car for a little over 2 weeks, I havent been this impressed with the versatility of any car before. You get good looks, great use of space, good gas mileage, great safety features and above all a pleasure to drive. If you have a family with kids, this is the family car you should look at seriously. The only thing it cant do is haul things like a pickup could, but really, how often do you do that in a family vehicle. Only negative so far is a loose DVD player that rattles but will be corrected by the dealer. I really enjoy this car.
