  • Truly the perfect sedan - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

My 2005 Chevy Malibu has 56,500 miles and has never given me any problems, barring the occasional Malibu moment. The 2.2L 4-cylinder engine is surprsingly robust and highway passing is not as difficult as it generally is with these type of engines. The interior, while considered boring by many, is to me just practical enough without being completely ugly. The cargo space, both in the passenger cabin and the trunk is very surprising. Several employees at department stores have doubted that large objects could indeed fit in my spacious trunk, but they were also surprised that a full-size outdoor grill slid in with ease. Overall, my only complaint about the car is the lack of reading lamps.

  • 286,000 miles and still going - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

Most inexpensive car Ive ever owned. Absolutely no unexpected issues. Normal brake and tire wear about 80k miles each, 1 set of spark plugs, 1 belt, 2 tie rod ends and 1 battery. Ive used Mobile 1 and change oil at 9k, and had the trans. serviced twice. As youve guessed I drive for my job a lot, and I dont baby it. V-6 Fuel mileage averages about 34 highway, 28 overall. Would consider a trade but afraid I cant find a more dependable car.

Bought this in May. Waited till it had 9000 before I made comment on it. Have 4 cyl and get 34 to 36 mpg on the hwy. 22 to 24 city. Great ride on both hwy and city. Handles great. Very quiet interior. Lot of standard options for the price. No real problems so far. Dont like the upgraded radio, only real complaint at higher speed radio turns up to high automatically cant hear passengers talking . Have Saab 9.5 for other car. will most likely buy another malibu instead of Saab. Same frame as 9.3 half the price, seven eights same ride.

we all expect the best and this malibu has performed much better than average. one complaint that i have is mileage odometer is off reads about 103+ miles for every 100 chev says this is not unreasonable and wont fix. i have had turn signal bulbs burn out but replaced with heavy duty no problems.

  • Small Car with a Big Ride - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

I am a Big Guy and I drive a Chevy Silerado, and the Family car is the Malibu. I was very suprised at the amount of room in the car. It fits me like a glove and can that Malibu move down the road. The ride is superb for a mid size and it handles well. The electric steering is very sensitive, requiring little effort. My wife and teenage daughter love the look and the way it drives also. We drove it on vacation and averaged 28 mpg on the interstate, mountains, and city. We drove the speed limit and then some. The only complaint is that the interior could use a little upgrade to make it more asthetically pleasing. Over all a wonderful vechile

  • Love the Mailbu - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu

This is our first "Low priced" car in many years and we are amazed at how well we like it. We cant understand why your "Pros" dont rate this car higher. We find the steering and brakes to be excellent. It is a great size for around town and still does well on the highway. We are thinking about trading one of our other cars for a second Malibu. Everything on our car works as it should and it has never been back to the shop. We like the OnStar, XM radio, remote starting etc. All around good balance. Car is tight and quiet. More than worth the money. Highly recommend it.

Very good performance, ride quality, and stand alone styling. Excellent for family in town and great on the highway. Well thought out design and features like the fold down passenger seat are very useful.Comfortable seats on long trips. Only driven 5000km. Very happy with purchase. Excellent value for the dollar compared to the overpriced imports. Only waited four weeks for factory order car to arrive, excellent.
