Overview & Reviews
The side curtain airbag option now includes front-seat side-impact airbags.
- Pros: Smooth ride quality, above-average fuel economy with V6, plenty of passenger and cargo space, ample safety and convenience features, innovative remote start feature.
- Lackluster interior, subpar brakes and steering, down on power compared to competitors, no manual transmission available.

I Love My Malibu - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu
By Corey - July 25 - 9:43 pmMy husband went and bought me a new 2005 Chevy Malibu. We already had a 2002 model of the Malibu and I couldnt have been happier. I love Chevys and the Malibu is perfect for me and my family. I especially love the automatic start!

Is this car for you? - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu
By samuel - March 23 - 3:50 amThe new Malibu is a bargain with the GM discounts and rebates. You get a 200 hp V6, 6 disc CD, sunroof, power seats, and premium wheels for about $18,000. The cars run well on the highways. A recent trip where I averaged 68mph (260 mile drive) I got 36+mpg. WOW. Road noise is fair, acceleration is fun, the car has a lot of jump.

Chevy Rocks - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu
By T M M - November 8 - 3:50 pmThis Malibu has even more power than the old model. Tight, quiet, turns like a champ and the new electric driven steering module is better. The mileage is as advertised and thats at 75mph on the highway. I love the suspension, the quiet ride, the XM radio. I got it loaded other than the OnStar. The engine is a champ. Plenty of power in all conditions. Smooth with plenty of torque .

Marvelous Malibu - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu
By Ross Jensen - September 18 - 6:26 amI test drove a 2005 Malibu LS on a whim because I didnt like the back end of the Impala (Those plain circles!). I ended up getting in the car and compared it to any good quality export. The salesman gave me the keys and we took it for a test drive. I was so impressed, I had to drag my wife in a few days later. She never liked American cars, especially Chevys. Despite her resentment, once she got in the Malibu, she loved it, too. We drove around for ten minutes and that was all it took. Chevy really did a great job n the Malibu! Weve had it for four months now and we love it!

Base Malibu-Great value-Great car - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu
By Dick T - August 23 - 3:10 pmI love this car, Super gas mileage, 30+ in suburban driving, 36+ on a highway trip. The 4cylinder has plenty of zip for any normal driving. The V6 models must be real performers. Electric power steering is really great. Get a GM credit card and save more money. I have friends with Honda Acords that have had several problems, but I have had none. Chevy gets an A+ with the new Malibu.

BEST BUY - 2005 Chevrolet Malibu
By T - July 14 - 2:03 amI am thrilled that for less then 25k I bought a mid-size sedan that both my husband and I are comfortable in. Finally a vehicle designed for someone short. I am just barely over 5 feet and every other car I have ever owned I can not help but sit dangerously close to the steering wheel. In my last car there was less then 6 in. between myself and the steering wheel. The Malibu has the adjustable pedals and telescoping steering wheel, allowing me to sit at an arms length from the steering wheel. My husband is 6 foot and it fits him as well. Finally an affordable car for those of us not average.
