This Year's Model Updates:

A regular-wheelbase 760i model has been added to complement the long-wheelbase 760Li -- it features all the power and amenities of the top-line model in a more manageable size. The 745i and 745Li models are freshened with new alloy wheels, and are available with all-season run-flat tires as a no-charge option. All 7 Series models can add adaptive headlights as an option, and Sirius Satellite Radio as a dealer-installed accessory. BMW has made revisions to the iDrive control system to simplify various functions, and the automatic climate control system now has a humidity sensor. Finally, the outside mirrors get a power-fold function this year.

Pros:
  • Superb driving dynamics, highly advanced technology, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
Cons:
  • Toys can be distracting from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

  • A wonderful car - 2004 BMW 7-Series

After owning Mercedes cars for 24 years straight (most recently an S class), I bought my first BMW. It has the best performance and interior of any vehicle I have ever driven. The exterior may be controversial, but I love it. The electronics are wonderful. If you have any experience with a PC, you will find the I-Drive to be intuitive, easy to use and useful. BMWs engineers were thinking clearly and creatively when they designed this car.

What a dream car!, Looks, handling, great quality are typical of this and my previous 3 BMWs. After being inundated by all the new procedures from the starting to operating the vehicles too numerous features, I longed for the old simple Brake and gas models. But as I began to read and reread and reread I have begun to understand and use the (too many) features (most of which a normal person would never use or need needless to say understand). But from the solid door closing to the massaging seats to the sound system and the road holding traction its a BMW. Brilliantly Manufactured Wonder. Yes! I do like my BMW.

  • Love my seven! - 2004 BMW 7-Series

Ive owned this car for 18 months. I LOVE it. It drives like a dream and I have had no problems at all. I have the all-way adjustable seats with a/c, heating and a massage. They are the 2nd most comfortable seats Ive ever driven in (next to a Toyota Land Cruiser, believe it or not). The iDrive gets loads of bad press, but its fine. I even like it. If you are not totally tech-averse, you will not have any trouble with it. Contrary to whats written, the most frequently used controls are still available on knobs on the dash. Sound system is great, but the two CD players (one changer, one in-dash single) is perhaps a bit of overkill.

After almost a year, I am still awed by this car. It strikes such a cord of delight that there are such talented designers and engineers at BMW. It nothing less than a masterpiece...

  • 2004 vs 2003 - 2004 BMW 7-Series

My 2003 was plagued with so many problems BMW eventually replaced it with a 2004. So far its been 10000 miles and no problems to report. I did receive a notice from BMW telling me that my 2003 (I guess they forgot they took it back)was extending its warranty to 6 years and 100000 miles, this applies to the 2002 models as well. This does not apply the 2004 model or the 2005(makes sense??)They are also offering me $1500 toward the sale or lease of a 2005 or 2006. I guess thats BMWs way of saying their sorry for all the torture they put me through---NEVER AGAIN

  • Enjoying 7 Series but... - 2004 BMW 7-Series

Long time BMW owner. First time a 7 series owner and loving it. Performance, style, power, comfort are wonderous. However, computer keeps shorting out causing it to be in the shop 2 times in last 4 months. Overall, just as long as BMW corrects problem and gives me a free loaner car...am satisfied, for now.

  • nice car - 2004 BMW 7-Series

I think this is the must intelligent car i have driven,i mean, come on, even if you dont close the door all the way the car will do it for you,(no kidding) the power is awesome, the fine details of comfort from head rest that"huges" your neck to a/c on the seat, are small "human" needs that makes this car not wanting to get off. this car got my big "thumps up".is a bit intimidating at first with so much technology at your finger tips but once you get used to,the car becomes "an excuse" to get out and drive.
