Overview & Reviews
A regular-wheelbase 760i model has been added to complement the long-wheelbase 760Li -- it features all the power and amenities of the top-line model in a more manageable size. The 745i and 745Li models are freshened with new alloy wheels, and are available with all-season run-flat tires as a no-charge option. All 7 Series models can add adaptive headlights as an option, and Sirius Satellite Radio as a dealer-installed accessory. BMW has made revisions to the iDrive control system to simplify various functions, and the automatic climate control system now has a humidity sensor. Finally, the outside mirrors get a power-fold function this year.
- Superb driving dynamics, highly advanced technology, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
- Toys can be distracting from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

DONT BUY THE 7 SERIES - 2004 BMW 7-Series
By Jack Pancoast - April 28 - 2:00 amIf you travel and plan on returning to a car that unlocks at the airport, than dont buy this total cluster job! They claim to have solved the issues on this piece of junk, not the case. BMW Mobile phone still does not connect properly. Auto close trunk is not auto for the 3rd freaking time. Entire Nav screen goes into total lockup and dies. Yes the engine is great, but you dont get a chance to enjoy it, while in repair shop. Dealership is quite good, however forget about Germany helping them or any customer out with this pathetic piece of $78,000 garbage. Stay away from BMW producing disgraceful quality.

poor plain Jane dashboard - 2004 BMW 7-Series
By Chris Kent - April 23 - 2:00 amIt is really a gorgeous car on the outside but they messed up the dashboard and oversimplified it they thought. The older BMWs looked great on the inside. They completely striped it all out destroyed it. Look at the interior of the 97 - 2001 740s and it has a gorgeous interior. The triptronic shifting is a joke. It is on the steering wheel. At least mercedez got it right in that department and still keep it on the stick shift lever.

Luxury Learning Curve - 2004 BMW 7-Series
By SteveC - April 21 - 2:00 amAfter driving Mercedes since 1985, I finally bought my first beamer. The 745i has great looks, handling, acceleration, finish... all youd expect from a luxury sports sedan. However, why does the cars design require acknowledgment/cancellation of a disclaimer every time I start it? How many times does it take to push a button for "Park" instead of mistakingly "shifting" into reverse? How many times does it take to stop turning on the the windshield wipers when I really want to shift into reverse? Perhaps this car is really not for me -- there IS a learning curve -- and all I wanted to do is enjoy driving it.

Xanadu of performance and comfort - 2004 BMW 7-Series
By jay_wock - April 13 - 2:00 amFirst BMW and it lives up to the brand id of Ultimate Driving Machine. The thing is a delight to drive, and to ride in. Very comfortable. Technology is over the top, but very manageable, and I look forward to the improvements there (e.g. touch screen, easier to see graphics with polarized sunglasses, etc.). Havent driven the Audi, but this thing beats the Mercedes and Lexus hands down.

Classy Drive - 2004 BMW 7-Series
By RudyG SA - April 8 - 2:00 amWeve driven Jags, Audis, Cadillacs, and of all luxury cars, this has to be the best. The car isolates you from the roadway and road noise. Response is immediate. Blending into traffic is fun, even with those crazy drivers that are bound and determined not to let you get in front of them.

Best Car Ever - 2004 BMW 7-Series
By Richard M. Wolf - April 3 - 2:00 amAfter driving Mercedes for 25 years, BMWs i-Drive convience and seat comfort caused a switch to a BMW. Euopean Delivery was a pleasure. No defects! On long trips the car leaves you relaxed and rested. The radio has a vastly extended reception range - over 250 miles for NYC local stations and great sound quality.
