Overview & Reviews
Last year's 2.4T model is now the 2.5T, with the same 208-horsepower engine as the AWD model. Bi-xenon headlights are a new option, while the sport package for the 2.5T includes speed-sensitive power steering.
- Superb comfort, wide variety of safety and luxury features, balanced ride and handling characteristics, available all-wheel drive.
- Handling lacks true sport sedan precision, expensive optional equipment, turbo lag and torque steer in the T5 model.

217,000 and going strong - 2004 Volvo S60
By birddogphil - November 28 - 12:25 pmI have driven this car for business for the last 8 years. This is my second Volvo in recent years and I consider this S60 to be as close to the perfect car for me as I will ever get. With the 2.4 engine,I think the performance is good but obviously not stellar.Reliability, comfort, style,MPG are however all stellar.Keep a few extra bulbs on hand, change the oil and do regular maintenance and do what I am planning to do-keep driving this car for 300,000 miles and then decide if I should look for a new ride.

Besides the back legroom, Excellent..... - 2004 Volvo S60
By C. Rosina - November 16 - 2:00 amI love my Volvo S60 Turbo. It was definitely worth the little extra money for the turbo. The one and only complaint I have about this vehicle is the small amount of legroom in the back seat. Other than that, I highly recommend this car for anyone who wants a sporty luxury sedan at a reasonable price.

First Expensive Car ... - 2004 Volvo S60
By John Sanfilippo - October 23 - 5:20 pmCar is very fun to drive. I do not use it as an everyday car so when I do drive it what a treat! The car is clean, smooth, and the sound system is very, very good. (I enjoy music and understand subtles others may not. Try listening to the Beatles "I Am the Eggman" the separation from the Dolby II Pro Logic is unbelievable. Or you Rush Fans listening to "Subdivision" -- you will be blown away.

Wow - 2004 Volvo S60
By R or R or R - September 18 - 10:00 amIll start by saying I agree with ther majority of reviews to date. This car is really close to perfection. Sure, I can make comment about "this little thing or that" but the bottom line is this is one fine car. The mors you drive it the better it gets ! Bought a 2004 Cross Country for my wife, fell ni love with Volvo for 1000 good reasons and went back and got a new 2004 S60R. What a 3D ride. Its what you want you want it to be 24X7 and does a great job. Power, style, ride, performance, etc, etc. Do yourself a favor check one out for an hour or two - you will not want to give it back. AMG, M3, Audi, bla, bla, take the money and run em..VOLVO FOR EVER !

Turning ratio difficult in urban areas - 2004 Volvo S60
By msl - September 18 - 10:00 amShould have taken some close U-turns on the test drive. With 18" wheels, it is almost impossible to perform a U-turn in city with 4 lane traffic. So concerned that I looked at moving back from AWD to a T-5 and with only 2,000 miles, the "book value" had decreased $14K from what I paid 3 months earlier. Fun to drive on highway, not in city.

Vacation plus new car - 2004 Volvo S60
By Volvofan - August 29 - 2:00 amThis is our 4th Volvo (since 1984), we picked up this one in Sweden, using a free flight from Volvo. Put on 2500 miles in Europe before shipping it back to CA (at Volvo expense.) Sure beats a rental car. My current Volvo is a 1988 240DL, which still runs fine--very reliable.

best in class - 2004 Volvo S60
By cjs - August 22 - 2:00 amI love this car. I drove pretty much everything in the class, BMWs, Nissans, the Passat, Infiniti G35 and I35. Each car and make has its strong suit but I think Volvo has really created the best all-around car here. One cautionary note here, I leased mine sight unseen (another dealers inventory) and really wish I had the 17 inch rims.

Not ready for prime time - 2004 Volvo S60
By NRFPT - August 22 - 2:00 amA fun car to drive but the build quality is not up to par. Have already had the rear brake pads & rotors replaced due to squeaking and the replacements also squeak. Also have a disturbing vibration in the shifter when in 5th gear. Volvos position is that the vibration is inherent in the design of the car.
