Going Strong - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By EZK - April 3 - 9:50 amI bought this SUV in 2000 new. I knew it was expensive compared to other SUVs but my 1996 Chevy Tahoe stranded my family and I for the third time in VT and I was willing to pay more for reliability. Almost ten years later and this is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. 105,000 miles and it runs and rides like new. Unlike my newer VW Passat and the Tahoe predecessor, the TLC does not leak any engine oil or any other fluids on my garage floor to this day. Only negatives are 16 mpg (no matter how you drive); very expensive parts when they fail; awkward third row seat arrangement; chews through tires at the front end (latest Michelins are holding up better than others). Best SUV!

Best of the Best - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By Land Cruiser #1 - October 31 - 1:53 amIve had two Land Cruisers a 1997 and 2000, and with out any doubt, the Toyota Land Cruiser is the overall best SUV made today. I sold the vehicles when they had around 100k miles on them. However, I could have kept them for another 100k. Both vehicles were dealer maintained and they never had to do anything other than the routine scheduled maintenance. Everything about the vehicles was quality not a cheap part to be found inside or out. It is no wonder why the UN uses these vehicles around the world for relief efforts rather than the cruddy Land Rover Discovery anymore. By the way, I had a 96 Discovery SE7 and the damed thing started costing me $2000 per repair twice a year after 50k miles.

Upgraded Cruiser - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By Friediguana - July 17 - 10:00 amI just upgraded to the FJ100 from a FJ90 I had for ten years. All I can say is WOW! I beat my old FJ90 up something fierce and it just keeps rolling (250K)...I was thinking of keeping it 4 another 200K miles but a "used" (never off-road) FJ100 got my attention. Needless to say this newbie has exceeded all my expectations in terms of durability, power, and confidence.

peace of mind - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By peaceofmind - April 14 - 2:00 amI am beyond analytical...I reveiweed and tested drove everything. i had an BMW X-5 on order and cancelled it. I bought a 2000 L.Cruiser with littel regrets. It doesnt handel like the X-5 but the space and fit and finish won me over. The v-8 is awesome. The weight wears the brakes but will protect my love ones. The way I look at it ..it is a lot cheaper to pay the pump instead of the hospital. This is a very capabel vehicle one that cost too much but is worth every penny.

The Best - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By machelle - January 31 - 1:36 pmI just ordered my third new Land Cruiser (2007 model). At 110,250 miles, my 2000 handled better, drove tighter and was a smoother ride than every test drive we took of other comparable 2007 SUVs. The Land Cruiser has only needed two repairs (a starter and CD electrical problem) all these miles. It has reliably gotten me out of sticky situations numerous times ranging from snow packs in the Rockies to an approaching hurricane on the Florida Coast. The third seats are not as comfortable, but are great for hauling my daughters middle school basketball team. The seats all easily tuck away in several formations for hauling everything from small trees to luggage. We couldnt go anywhere else.

Practical, Reliable Truck - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By bob - March 26 - 11:13 amWeve had this car for over 6 years now and it still looks and drives like new. We looked at other SUVs in 2000 but nothing compared to this one, and still nothing compares to this. The only problem we had with this is with the cd player and the brakes. Solid truck.

6 More MPG and its PERFECT! - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By JTax - February 15 - 10:00 amIf you need one vehicle to do everything this is it! Amenities to spare, great power, comfort, superior road manners for its heft, quiet. The extra fuel cost is countered by its reliability. With fuel costs up the cost of a used one is well worth the investment. Heck, if I cant drive it Ill rent it out as a luxury studio apartment.

Unbelievable machine!!!! I LOVE IT. - 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser
By AmirS - December 14 - 10:00 amAs big as an elephant, as smooth as a pillow. It is unbelievable.I did shop around for SUVs past 2 months.Nothing does beat that features, reliability, performance,,,,,,,of this 4700cc car. The power is awsome. Fuel economy might be a problem but, man youre buying such a big car with so many features. In fact compared to other cars same size it has the best fuel economy.
