Overview & Reviews
For 2005, the Murano receives a rollover sensor for the side curtain airbags, and a new S model with fewer features and a lower price. New options packages and an Intelligent Key entry and ignition system are newly available.
- Sharp handling, strong standard engine, comfortable and practical interior.
- Continuously variable transmission detracts from performance, SE model rides harshly, no third-row seat.

Murano - Fun Car to Drive - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Cookie - December 28 - 3:03 pmEnjoy vehicle - bought vehicle for new look and Nissan reliability. Have previously been a Toyota owner and fan. Variable transmission has not detracted from the vehicle- it has a fast passing speed. Love the new look - definitely not a box like most other suvs. Overall a very roomy, soid, fun car to drive. Have had to have the car serviced once - required reprogramming of software so transmission functioned properly. Other than that, no problems. Would like a better paint surface - tends to scratch very easily. Overall, very happy with vehicle.

Power-sapping? No way! - 2005 Nissan Murano
By LinnyJ - December 22 - 1:26 amNo way does the CVT get in the way! I drive on crowded highways in terrible traffic and more than once I have been able to avoid erratic drivers by quickly stepping on the gas and getting out of the way. The pick up is incredible and has saved me more than once! The ride is smooth and if we wanted 3 rows of seats, there were other options out there. Maybe Edmunds should think about all the empty nesters buying this car that dont want that third row. We enjoy the roominess of only 2 rows!

2004 nissan murano - 2005 Nissan Murano
By kristine - December 19 - 9:46 pmive had my murano for almost a year now i was so excited i loved it so much until my speakers started going in and out, the passenger seatbelt got stuck closed, my alternator went, and my engine light went on again for the 3rd time last night at least it didnt leave me on rt 95 again the navigation sends me to wrong addresses the dealer told me nissans hold value but i got it appraised its in perfect condition, fully loaded and it was only worth 21,000 and that was 6mon after i got it. To top it all off ive been to 7 diff nissan dealerships for work and maintenance on it and at everyone the pple are rude and disrespectful my car also has electrical problems that were diagnosed in nj i waited 3mon

Fun to Drive for SUV - 2005 Nissan Murano
By Cardy - December 16 - 7:23 pmAlthough a crossover, this SUV is like driving a sportscar. It will hopefully get more consistent gas mileage after the engine breaks in. Absolutley love it unless the alternator break as in a recall. Google it and find out if you VIN applies. Fortunately mine does not. Absolutley endorse this vehicle.

"SWEET" - 2005 Nissan Murano
By GARY OLIVEIRA - December 10 - 9:06 pmour 2003 marano is the sweetest suv , that we have owned. it is an upscale fancy suv. it is sooo comfortable and so smooth to drive...it is roomy inside to fit 3 comfortably in the back with reclineing seats on both sides in the back,,sweet...it also has an adjustable gas pedal that is also an important amenity for an suv... we have no problem with the cvt transmission, its great, with great power... we have kept every service checkup and have had not one problem or gliche at all... the color is sunlit copper and black interior very southwestern to me,,, i love it.
