My second jeep cherokee - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By jasonc314 - August 29 - 2:00 amI bought this jeep off some goofy dealer in Ohio who i honestly think he was slow. I won a auction on Ebay and snagged it for $5000. It had 98k miles when i got it, it now has 106000. I like the jeep because of the first one i bougt was an89 with 88k. I still have it but has turned into a body work project due to rust but it never broke down. Anyway, we get a lot of snow and this thing is insane in snow/mud. Havent had a chance to get new one in snow/mud. THE GAS MILEAGE SUCKS BADLY, but i love the power. I could burn off the tires in three street blocks.Easy to work on.Nickel and dime problems Lose the liberty, bring back CHEROKEE.

I Love My Girl - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By jdcman - August 21 - 10:00 amThis is easily the best vehicle Ive ever owned. Not only can it fit all my stuff and my friends, I can take them over the mountains of New Hampshire in a snowstorm. I spend most of my time in the city, and it is by far the easiest vehicle to parallel park (I used to drive a Neon and an Altima). The ride is solid, the pick up is there when you need it, and it sure does look great all cleaned up.

Bring back the Cherokee! - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By Great SUV - July 6 - 10:00 am1st Cherokee was a 90, bought new. Bought this one new also & now has 85K miles. Still love it, but am considering buying a new SUV. Hate the Liberty!! So probably will move to Grand Cherokee, but I prefer the smaller size of the Cherokee. Its easier for me & my dog to get into. Im a real estate agent & if it werent for the hard-to-get-into back seat, I wouldnt be thinking of changing. Its been just great, very reliable and still looks new!

Bullet proof basics. - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By Bazoozoo - May 4 - 10:00 amVery basic but also very durable. This is one tough vehicle that can take a lot of abuse. If you are like me and just want to get in and drive then this is the ideal vehicle. Expensive European cars know to keep their distance in parking lots and on the highway. Couldnt have asked for anything else but power windows.

Best vehicle Ill ever own - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By gotta love the jeep - April 5 - 12:56 amI inherited this when my dad passed a couple of years ago, and between him, my mom, and myself, weve put 55,000 miles on this Cherokee. My mom and sister both have Grand Cherokees (98 and 99), but neither compare to the way this one performs on or off-road. The ride is a little bouncy at times, but thats to be expected for a truck-based SUV. Even then, it rides much better than many current car-based SUV wanna-bes and newer mid-sized truck-based SUVs with independent suspension, IMHO. Ill also tell you that this is one vehicle the designers and engineers got right, even with upgrades as the model years moved along.

You have to experience a JEEP - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By hxvxm - March 28 - 2:00 amJeeps are incredibly fun to dirve. There rugged and extreme. Ive used my 4x4 to go skiing as well as off roading. The Jeep comes through on all trails. I would recommend finding a stick vs. automatic.

Now its nice - 1998 Jeep Cherokee
By Ramblin Gal - January 10 - 10:00 amWhen I first bought it, it was major trouble...I needed the water pump, the oil gauge and something else replaced the first 6 months and it was heating up alot. The battery went out 4 times- the rear cargo door wouldnt close all the way and ran down the battery....I thought I had a lemon. Almost filed, but the dealership fixed everything OK and it has been reliable since then, except it seemed like it needed new tires and brakes too often and I do a combo of city and expressway driving . It always goes through the water and snow- it does slip in very sloppy conditions.
