I did all right and still got burned - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By TC - September 16 - 6:30 pmI enjoyed my Jeep thoroughly. I kept my Jeepster in pristine shape inside and out. You could literally eat off the floors and or hood. Within 8 years of ownership I had an oil leak where dropping the tranny became a necessary fix costing me $800 - and from there it mechanically went downhill FAST. The radiator, water pump and finally the rod bearings. The rod bearings would cost me a remanfacturered engine at a cost of $2000 + labor. The dealership here in Central Florida said $4300 and I said see ya. I had to figure if it was worth the time and money. The Jeep value being ONLY $3300. I loved my Jeep! Yet if I fix it what would the possibilities be of something else going wrong, like the A/C?

Peppy performer - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By MPcuse1 - May 28 - 10:00 amDoes a variety of things well,off-road lousy weather, haul stuff. Appreciate the get up and go. Have had some repair work done, breaks(constantly), radiator and various sensors. Overall satisfied considering how hard I abuse it sometimes.

Love our Country! - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By DonJuanovan - March 22 - 10:00 amBought our Jeep two years ago from the original owners who were selling it because they bought a new Cherokee (2001 was the last year they made em). We have 80K on our Jeep and have had a few problems (waterpump, brakes, broken motor mount) but nothing out of the ordinary. Its a great vehicle, very handy and I think, sharp looking. Ours is red over silver. The ride is quite rough but hey, its a Jeep right?

my 1st.4x4 - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By yank - February 25 - 10:00 amI like my jeep cherokee for its low maintainence costs and reliability, however, its a very tireing vehicle on long trips. It handles very well in adverse weather conditions.I now have 126000 mi. and still going strong. It has been serviced as specified in the owners manual. This is only my second set of tires.Never had a front end problem or any major repairs. Back seats hard to manage for older people, also not a smooth riding vehicle Never did any off road driving with this car..

Solid, reliable and basic vehicle - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By spinoza - December 27 - 2:00 amWe bought this Cherokee new in 1995 and have used it for basic transportation (our only car) since then. We live an active lifestyle, and its been great for camping, mtn. biking, carrying canoes and kayaks, etc. We have 2 German Shepherds, and they ride in the back with the seats folded down. The car has run like a Swiss watch, and weve had no mechanical problems at all. The 180 hp, low torque motor is a great hauler and handles like a work horse in adverse conditions (snow, off-road, etc.).

I WILL ALWAYS DRIVE A JEEP - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By CRYSTAL - October 17 - 10:00 amMY MOTHER GAVE ME HER 1995 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT A FEW YEARS AGO AND I LOVE IT. IT HAS 139,000 MIILES ON IT AND STILL RUNNING GREAT. I HAD HAD TO PUT VERY LITTLE WORK INTO THE VEHICLE. I HAVE REPLACED THE WATER PUMP AND THE IGNITION. (TOTAL OF 300.00 FOR A 1995). GAS MILEAGE IS GOOD FOR AN SUV, AND ESPECIALLY FOR WHAT A SPEED RACER I AM. I FEEL VERY SAFE IN THE VEHICLE AND IT HANDLES GREAT.

Best vehicle I ever owned - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By ace - September 30 - 5:40 amWas one of two vehicles left on our lot before we closed the business and I was useing it myself during the winter months. Found it was a one owner vehicle and I decided to buy it as my personal vehicle. Loved how it handled poor weather conditions and felt very safe. Loved the style, power, and handling. Great vehicle for the price. Leaks oil from rear main, typical of the 4.0 Liter engine.140,000 miles and runs great! Hope to have this one for life!

Stisfied - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By steverin - August 31 - 3:33 pmI simply wanted a 4wd that would be able to safely traverse logging roads, ice/snow and has lots of after-market support. I found all of this in the cherokee.

Some things you love like to bite you - 1995 Jeep Cherokee
By Braz - August 8 - 9:10 pmI had this vehicle for a little more than 4 years. I loved to drive it, although gas was a bit less back then. I had to break down and trade because, first the door nearly fell off, I had 2 oil leaks that were fairly costly ($500 total) the hatch leaked so badly that it would pour the rain inside. I would probably get an average of 19-21 +- mpg. I would have liked a heads up before I bought it.
