Worst harmonics roaring noise EVER!!!!! - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Natalie McMahan - March 3 - 4:25 pmI was excited to get my new pilot! Then I started hearing a harmonics noise that is not pleasing to the ears when driving down the road. It is bad all over the vehicle. You can hear it at high and low speeds and also when turning. Hendricks Honda of Hickory told me it was the tires which were the oem bridgestones. So I assumed it was the problem because I believe the dealership. I took the tires off around 36,000 miles and put on a highly rated michelin tire. I still have the noise. So I took it back to the dealership and left it with them and they did not offer me a car to drive. I got it back still have the noise and they told me it is the new tires I bought!!!!!!! How do you have the same noise with 2 different brands of tires???? The dealership said I bought a tire with to ruff of tread? What? However I am not happy with the dealership or my car!!! It is annoying to buy a high end car with a big price tag! Then you end up with problems no one wants to fix or even try to help you with!!!!!! Dear Honda you need to stand behind your product and if you choose not to you will have customers like me that will never purchase one again. It is unacceptable that I paid for a new car and I feel like I am driving a piece of junk. I am driving a 2005 ford freestyle awd with 327,000k miles with michelin tires with no harmonics roaring noise and with that mileage it should be not my 2016 Honda Pilot with 37,000k miles??????/

Weird Engine noise Honda Pilot EXL - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Vipul Joshi - March 22 - 2:31 pmI am an Honda lover but... My affection on Pilot 2016 EXL is slowly reducing 😒 Purchased Pilot EXL 2016 model in last March 2016 . Less than one year time some abnormal noise started from the engine ( under hood) ! It can be heard clearly when vehicle starts and slowly accelerate ( sound like helicopter !) It can not be heard while vehicle in speed above 100 kms / hour . Pilot given to Honda agency for the repair 4 days before ( got replacement rent a car from Honda) They confirmed that there is abnormal noise coming either from engine or timing belt or tensioner ( they are not sure as vehicle still under inspection/ investigation stage) As per Honda Most probably they have to order parts from Japan and will take more than two weeks time! ( also they have to get approval to order such parts) I wouldnt expect such problems in very first year from Honda Pilot !!! Am I alone to have such noise issue on Pilot 2016 or my other Piloters friends also experienced the same ? Need your feedback friends 🙏🏽 Thanks Vipul ( Honda lover) 😒

Bigger than than the CR-V - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Johnny Kassay - November 25 - 4:05 amThe Pilot is a lot bigger than the CR-V, it had taken some getting used to when judging parking and such. Very roomy however. The only thing about the car that I dont care for is the keyless start system.

Auto-Idle is a dud! - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Jim - November 2 - 12:00 pmPurchased 2016 Honda Pilot Elite in September, 2015 and now has 6,700 miles on it. The auto-idle quits working and I have had it in for repair 4 times. The last two times I have been told that the system thinks my battery is low but when the battery is checked I am told it is excellent. They then have to reset it and it then works fine for a short while. Dealer said they cannot do anything about it until Honda does a software upgrade to fix the problem.

2016 Pilot has exceeded our expectations - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Pete Rubinas - October 31 - 11:04 amI took my time purchasing the new Pilot because of the questionable reviews early on, particularly around the transmission, entertainment system technology, and fit/finish. We have been very pleased with the vehicle overall. I took the car for a lengthy test drive to ensure that I was comfortable with the transmission. While it has a slight lag from a full stop while in Economy mode, I dont feel that is excessive, perhaps because Ive owned other fuel efficient vehicles that dont provide immediate acceleration. It does accelerate just fine once it does take off. And I have not experienced any of the gear-searching that early reviewers mentioned. The active safety technology is pretty incredible, particularly for longer highway trips. Auto high-beam headlights, auto wipers, blind spot information system, and adaptive cruise control/lane-keep assist system all make the driving experience almost effortless. Problems with fit and finish from early on appear to have been addressed, as our vehicle has no such issues. The only thing that does feel somewhat unrefined is the Auto Engine Off idle stop functionality, which can be turned off, albeit impermanently. If it is particularly hot or cold, you will likely want to turn off the Econ mode to maximize heating or cooling from the HVAC system. And I still prefer Google Maps on my phone to the Nav system. All in all, we are very happy with our purchase.

Completely different from my last one - 2016 Honda Pilot
By Jim Giacomini - October 19 - 12:57 amI previously owed a 2011 touring model. Had no problems. I now own a 2016 Elite. Gas mileage, acceleration, exterior, interior and overall performance is much better than my previous Pilot. The navigation system is a little hard to operate but that may be because I was so familiar with the older version. I do not care for the navigation lock out . It may be a safety feature but it disallows my passenger from making changes to the map and destination while vehicle is in motion. The safety systems, and there are many, seem to work well. Im a little Leary of the forward collision system so I elect to shut it down. I feel it sometimes over reacts and then is sluggish to retire. There is also a by pass for the engine idle shut off but it has to be activated every time the car is restarted. Wish there was a way to disable this function on a more permanent basis. Front seats do not seem as comfortable as on my 2011 Pilot. That may be due to the seats being ventilated as well as heated. The drivers seat arm rest and front passenger arm rest leave much to be desired in my opinion. They are adjustable up and down but seem very small and rather cheap. Other than those few complaints, Im very happy with the vehicle so far. May be to soon to give a thumbs up approval because I have only owned this vehicle since January of this year.

I like it but - 2016 Honda Pilot
By emil Dandrea - September 19 - 9:49 amMine actually makes a "choofing" sound when depressing accelerator. When taking foot off accelerator it seems to stay in lower gear and feels like you have the break on, like changing down a gear to slow down like it never got out of low gear. Display on dash does not show much info, I would like outside temp and music tracks playing. Pretty much blank screen unless adjusting settings.

Hondas Reputation is Based on Historical Results! - 2016 Honda Pilot
By J. Perk - August 30 - 9:43 amI bought a brand new 2016 Honda Pilot EX-L. I had the SUV for 8 months before trading it in. The vehicle drove very well and was very comfortable - great for a growing family / large family. I traded the Pilot in as the vehicle was frequently emitting a gas/oil odor through its front vents. I bought the Pilot in several times for diagnostic and repairs but the dealer was unable to replicate the issue and therefore did not have a resolution to the problem. Honda stated they would no longer look at my vehicle given the inability to replicate the issue and suggested I go through arbitration if I was still unsatisfied. I unfortunately went through the arbitration process and lost badly given Hondas experience in dealing with these matters. Honda changed its position regarding the issue, stating it was a common issue and the car should be emitting such disgusting/hazardous fumes - noting this was not a defect, but normal. (The change in Hondas position was a result of me getting a 3rd party mechanic to verify the issue.) I was very disappointed with my ownership experience and have realized that companies dont care about their customers, just their bottom line (should have known!). Also, the radio is terrible on the Pilot (I think the company is working on resolving this issue). The touch screen doesnt have a volume button, which I didnt think would bother me, but became pretty annoying over time.
