Overview & Reviews
A new Crown Vic LX Sport model with 235 horsepower, boosted torque, a performance-oriented axle ratio and five-spoke 17-inch wheels debuts. The Sport also comes with leather front bucket seats and a nifty center console. Standard Crown Vics get new included equipment like an auto-dimming rearview mirror, front seat back pockets and wheel covers. Newly optional on Standard models is luxury cloth seating and power-adjustable pedals. Those pedals, floor mats, heated side mirrors, antilock brakes, 12-spoke alloy wheels and steering wheel controls for the stereo and climate controls are now standard on LX models. Electronic gauges have been thoughtfully moved to the LX options list. LX and LX Sport get an optional trunk storage system. All Vics benefit from upgraded cupholders.
- Plenty of interior room, comfortable ride, excellent crash-test ratings.
- Large size makes it difficult to park and maneuver, roof-mounted bike rack makes car look like police cruiser.

Exellent, solid car. - 2002 Ford Crown Victoria
By Ford Fan - October 9 - 10:00 amThe CV is a wonderful car on the highway, the ride is smooth, solid and with the optional handling package, firm enough for decent handling. The 5 passenger sport appearance pkg (LX Sport for 2002) makes for a much sportier apperance. For those of us who think that a column mounted shifter is to stodgy, the floor shifter is a nice option.

Best Car Out There - 2002 Ford Crown Victoria
By Big Ed - June 14 - 10:00 amThis car is fun and functional. It carries adults in the rear seat without them being cramped. It accelerates to highway speeds (65 MPH) on the shortest of on-ramps. The trunk can hold more than your wife could ever pack! I cant understand why people would buy a cramped little Honda when you can get this for about the same price. This car has zero defects and the fit and finish is perfect. And I do get 25 MPG on the highway and 21 MPG around town with this rear-wheel drive V-8!

boat anchor - 2002 Ford Crown Victoria
By fletch lives - June 1 - 12:53 amThis heavy cruiser is a fantastic highway car getting a high of 27.3 mpg on a trip from Savannah to upstate NY. Smooth ride as long as the hiway is smooth. Poor around town performance as the tall gearing has the transmission constantly downshifting at even the slightest hint of throttle depression. Huge trunk is not the most usable as everything has to fit in the well. Poor sense of straight ahead. Handling is pretty much non existent as the car has very poor steering feel and is easily affected by bumps and ripples on these old Savannah streets. I bought this after an accident thinking that I would be safer. I have been and it has been mechanically reliable but the downside is a boring car

Part Tank Part Car Best Car Out there period. - 2002 Ford Crown Victoria
By atro - January 11 - 11:24 amI have owned a variety of vehicles and worked in a full auto repair shop for years. The Crown Victoria Ia an amazing vehicle. I get 22 MPG average. Lots of Power in the engine and for all and any electronics i want. Drive is smooth and it is very fun to work on with sooo much room. Even got hit by a rice burner couple dents missing side view mirror but the other cars front end was destroyed and bounced off my back tire!!! This car is a Tank on wheels!!!

Junk - 2002 Ford Crown Victoria
By big barn - July 26 - 12:13 pmUp until 50000 miles the vehicle was flawless; after that it has been nothing but down hill. Coil pack, plug wire, starter, a/c (several times) rear wheel bearing (twice), all kinds of electrical problems. I have been a Ford man all my life, but I will never buy any Ford product newer than a 96 model again. I would not recommend the 2002 Ford Crown Vic.

7/8 Marauder - 2002 Ford Crown Victoria
By Dr511scj - July 31 - 10:00 amUntil the price gouging on Mercury Marauders subsides, the Crown Victoria LX Sport is a worthwhile alternative. Although in a side-by-side test drive, I could really notice the Marauders extra horsepower, better sound and larger tires, it wasnt $10,000 better than the LX Sport (including incentives). Both the Marauder and the LX Sport are VASTLY superior to their progenitors (Grand Marquis and Crown Victoria, respectively). Both are much quicker and handle significantly better. The LX Sport is as close to a Police Interceptor as a the average civilian can buy.
