Overview & Reviews
The Monte Carlo receives only minor changes for the 2003 model year. The base LS model has been upgraded with standard four-wheel disc brakes, traction control and remote keyless entry. Both the LS and SS models sport newly styled wheels, four new exterior colors and the option of adding XM Satellite Radio.
- Spacious interior, low sticker price, strong V6 in SS models.
- Mediocre performance, bland interior with cheap materials, no passenger side-impact airbag.

The two door sports car - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By TxSkier - December 4 - 10:00 amThis is my 6th Monte Carlo since 1982. The second FWD after our 98. I like the big two door sports coupe with the styling back from the 70s and 80s. The car gets great gas mileage (26MPG avg)...has lots of room. Dash layout is good. The aluminum wheels in the first option package really sport out the car. The car rides great, some road noise on certain pavement types, most likely due to the Goodyears, will try Michelins when replacement time comes like I had on the 98 Monte. Some people either like the styling or dont. I looked at and compared to the Imapala, too much of a grand-pa car.

2003 Monte Carlo LS - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By ep1 - November 13 - 7:29 pmReally like the style of the car, though not very happy in the way it handles, sloppy but sort of controlled has the feeling of being very nose heavy up front in cornering manovers presently having steering shaft issues the dealer lubed and greased the steering shaft seems to be much better - great gas mileage and a real head tuner on the road.

2003 Jeff Gordon Signature Monte Carlo - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Ron Ignelzi - November 5 - 10:00 amA Must for all die-hard Jeff Gordon fans! This car is the BEST looking of all the Signature Series cars built by GM. Fun to drive and gets lots of positive comments from people that see it. Plenty of power and good gas mileage to boot.

I Love My SS - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Monte2003SS - October 28 - 2:00 amI love this car. I traded a 2001 Monte Carlo LS for this Superior Blue SS. I loved the color from the first moment I saw it. I think the car is great and I love driving it. I am proud to say that it is the "baddest" looking ride on the street.

Sweet! - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By ToddP - October 13 - 9:06 pmBought the car new and have never regretted it, even with the baby. Roomy and fun to drive. Chevrolet improved it a year later by adding a V8 option Only change I would make is that.

MY LIMITED EDITION MONTE CARLO SS - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By CCLCRAZY56 - October 10 - 2:00 amI HAVE A 2003 LIMITED EDITION PACE CAR MONTE # 767 OUT OF 1401. IT IS MIDNIGHT BLUE WITH SILVER FLAGS ON THE SIDE AND RED "TAZ" ON THE SIDE AND BACK. i HAVE HAD ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR MECHANCIALLY. I HAVE TINTED THE WINDOWS, PUT AN AWESOME EXHAUST SYSTEM ON IT BUT OTHER THAN THAT NO WORK HAS BEEN DONE. I CONSISTANTLY GET 30 MPG IN THIS CAR. AS MUCH AS I WOULD HATE TO GET RID OF THIS CAR I AM LOOKING AT THE 2004 SUPERCHARGED MONTE CARLO SS. LOOKING -- MIND YOU..

Best Monte Carlo - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Robertlang - September 18 - 10:00 amI dont know why Edmunds is dishing this car so badly. I love it and have owned 2 previous Monte Carlos (1980 and 1986)and this one is the best that Chevy has put out. I think it is a great deal for the price of the car and handles wonderfully for me. I also unlike Edmunds really like the appearance as it is a bit retro to the 80s models which I liked and think it is great looking; even the back end!

Great for work or play - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By ms - September 17 - 7:10 pmBought used with 14k, now have over 192,000 miles on it and I still get 28 MPG on the highway! Have the 3.8 V-6; wonder what kind of mileage Id get with a 5 or 6 speed auto? Put down the back seats and Ive carried ladders, lumber, 8-10 ft pieces of molding, vinyl flooring, you name it. Wish they hadnt stopped making it. I guess if I need to replace it Ill look for a 07.

The Monte Is Hot - 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
By Warrendl2002 - August 15 - 10:00 amI love this car. The thing that caught my eye was the sleek, and sporty exterior design, but when i got a chance to test drive it, I was blown away. Sporty, comfortable, great on gas, easy to handle, and of course is great eye candy.
