HEADLIGHT FAILURE AT !!!!!!!!!!!! 50 MPH !!!!!!!!! - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By William R. Johnson - July 20 - 12:51 pm2002 Advalance headlight problem that no one has ever heard of! Driving down dark road switch lights from low beam to high and lights go completely off. What a surprise so I switched back to low beam and thank goodness they worked. The odd thing is the bright light indicator stays on either in low or high beam position. NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO HELP. PLEASE HELP ME IF ANYONE HAS SEEN THIS PROBLEM.

2002 Avalanche The Best Vehicle Ever - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By wdjbettyboop - August 17 - 9:16 pmI bought my truck new, I now have 316K miles on my truck and I still love it, you would never know this truck has so many miles on it, it still looks and runs like new,of course weve taken good care of it, from what I understand they dont make the Avalanche anymore and I guess I know why because they just keep driving on and on with no problems.

I love this truck - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By rb - May 21 - 5:21 pmBought my Avalanche with 12K miles in 2003, it now has 167K and going strong. Considering the miles, other than routine things like, brakes, shocks, oil and tires, this truck has broken down very little. I had some front end work done, pitman arm and ball joints at about 100k, and a knock sensor at 150K. I replace the water pump at 150K because the gasket was leaking and I had to remove it to do the gasket. The original brakes lasted 100k. Still on the original alternator, radiator, exhaust etc.

200k no problems - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By mike - February 6 - 1:57 pmI had a 2002 and put 200k on it b4 I sold it. Never had a problem other than a plugged sock in the fuel pump from dirty fuel. never rattled, squeaked. flexed. I towed the heck out of this truck and changed oil at 10k to 12k miles. after about 200k was using 1 qt in between changes. I now have a 2007 w/ 130 and its even better.

The best SUV/Truck ever built! - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By scherf.com - October 21 - 1:20 amThe Avalanche is truly a masterpiece. I drove with 75 mph on the Interstate through a snow storm with snow drifts and ice, etc. and this baby didnt slip once and it was just a dream to be the King of the Road. It is spacious inside and it drives like a big luxury cruiser. The styling is just awesome--it turns heads everywhere, literally. Its a little expensive but compared to other SUVs in its class it is one of the best values on the market.

Ya gotta love it - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By rodebykr - August 26 - 2:00 amIn response to a March 2002 review, yes, my tailgate has opened on its own several times. The trick is to close it firmly & try to open before you move. If its tight, it will stay closed. If not, it will sound like you ran over something when it drops opens! I had a problem with water leaks in the 3-piece bed cover. The seals did not appear to be attached well & water sometimes poured in. Per the dealer, the seals are not factory installed, but are installed at some later time. To correct, the dealer first tried to reseat the seals. This wasnt a complete fix, so they borrowed a cover off another truck & Ive had no problems since.
