Yes - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Benny - January 1 - 5:54 pmI have a 2002 Avalanche Z71. Bought it in 2004. I have put 474,000 miles on it. At 225,000 miles I put another motor in it. I can't say enough about the one I bought. Good job Chevy.

I love this truck - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By rb - May 21 - 5:21 pmBought my Avalanche with 12K miles in 2003, it now has 167K and going strong. Considering the miles, other than routine things like, brakes, shocks, oil and tires, this truck has broken down very little. I had some front end work done, pitman arm and ball joints at about 100k, and a knock sensor at 150K. I replace the water pump at 150K because the gasket was leaking and I had to remove it to do the gasket. The original brakes lasted 100k. Still on the original alternator, radiator, exhaust etc.

Ya gotta love it - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By rodebykr - August 26 - 2:00 amIn response to a March 2002 review, yes, my tailgate has opened on its own several times. The trick is to close it firmly & try to open before you move. If its tight, it will stay closed. If not, it will sound like you ran over something when it drops opens! I had a problem with water leaks in the 3-piece bed cover. The seals did not appear to be attached well & water sometimes poured in. Per the dealer, the seals are not factory installed, but are installed at some later time. To correct, the dealer first tried to reseat the seals. This wasnt a complete fix, so they borrowed a cover off another truck & Ive had no problems since.

Good truck. - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Ron Duncan - May 15 - 2:02 amI bought this truck new and the only things I dislike are; cant see behind me when parking, brakes are weak, not enough power, the back has never sealed right and the drivers side headrest has always been defective at the bottom.

Amazing Z71 Truck!! - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By jharken - March 28 - 9:37 pmThis truck has it all! It looks great and the ride is even better! The inside of the vehicle is well built and everything is within easy reach. Had only one problem with a CV joint but its a 7 year old truck stuff will break eventually. And the best part is I still get 16-18 miles a gallon with this giant!

Loving it more every day! - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By snowbadger - February 20 - 10:00 amSafest truck you can drive! Gas mileage is the only drawback (I get about 13-14 MPG), but utility more than makes up for poor mileage. Tall vehicle. Strongly recommend step up bar. Conversion from SUV to truck is very easy. Ride is smooth whether on the road or rough terrain. 285HP engine has plenty of get up & go. Surprisingly good turning radius. Ingenious drainage system ensures water doesnt leak into the cockpit, even from the folding midgate. Took a while to get accustomed to the dimensions. A vehicle I liked when I bought it, & love more every time I get behind the wheel. Best purchase Ive ever made & most fun Ive ever had driving a vehicle.

Leaking - 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche
By sportsfan - October 25 - 2:00 amI love my Avalanche, and all the attention I get when Im driving. But Im confronting the dealership about a problem that just started happening. After one of our big Mississippi rain storms, the items stored in the back were soaking wet. Has anyone else encountered leakage?
