Atlas SEL Premium - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By BP - August 21 - 9:33 amEverything is great but the interior finishes look cheap. The dashboard and the seat material are not up to any luxury car standards. The 3rd Row seats have less legroom and could be an issue if used regularly. Love the drive assist technology in the car.

Great 3rd Row! - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Alyssa - May 19 - 7:09 amOver all the car is great. Amazing cargo space. Love the panoramic roof. Takes a while to get used to all the lane control etc...I personally think theres a lack of cup holders.

Two major repairs under 2,000 miles - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Andrea - May 27 - 3:31 pmFirst, I love this car, its comfort, style and maneuverability. It fits my kids and I perfectly and we have really enjoyed it. I also have nothing but great things to say about everyone we have come in contact with at VW. They all have been very helpful. I am however extremely disappointed in the fact that our car has been in the service department twice already. The first time was for loose bolts on the sway bar which caused extreme front in knocking/grinding sounds and rough handling. The second time was for a check engine light that came on. The diagnostic report stated that it had something to do with an air leak to the engine. Currently it is at the dealership for this and I dont have more information yet. I was hesitant to write this review as I generally dont like to comment with negative feedback but thought it would be worthwhile if it helps someone else in making their decision when purchasing a car. My dad purchased this car for us with the hopes that my kids and I would be driving something reliable and safe and unfortunately so far that has not proved to be true. Im very bummed out about our purchase for this reason.

Its a good SUV except.... - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By David L. - February 13 - 2:23 amI was driving a 2011 Chevy Suburban which I loved but I didnt need such a large vehicle anymore and I wanted to get more than 12 mpg. I loved how the new Atlas looked but Ive always heard that you "shouldnt buy the first years edition for a new car model because they need to get the bugs out". I ignored this advice and jumped into a 3-year lease of the SEL with 4Motion. Before I even drove it off the lot, I noticed that there was a gap between the bumper and the grill on the drivers side that didnt exist on the passengers side. The VW staff took some photos that they were going to send to VW Corporate as they thought it was a manufacturing issue that needed to be addressed. I brought the car into the dealership a week later so the issue could be resolved...not a big deal to me. I have now driven the car 2000 miles and here are my thoughts on it. Overall I like the vehicle but I HATE, HATE, HATE the automatic engine turnoff feature that activates whenever the car comes to a stop. The car has an on/off button for this feature on the dash but it turns itself back on every time the car in started. I am hoping that at some point VW will offer an update so the feature can be permanently disabled in the settings. I am guessing that this feature is to help save gas but it is very annoying at times and I tend to feel that it may be a safety issue in certain driving situation...such as when trying to make a left turn across lanes of moving traffic. The on/off feature causes a slight hesitation before the vehicle begins moving again which could be the difference between being involved in an accident or not. If the feature cant be permanently turned off, it would be good if it was deactivated whenever the turn signals were turned on. Another feature I didnt like is the lane departure correction. Depending on the when the painted lines on the road start, stop or swerve, the lane correction feature can quite quickly steer the car to one side unexpectedly. It can be very startling at times and again I feel that it can cause an accident in some situations. Luckily, this feature can be permanently deactivated in the car safety settings...which I did.

Atlas SE w/Tech R-Line - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Jaymo - April 3 - 9:56 amNot our first VW and were impressed with the Atlas overall. Highlights include superior infotainment (native and Android Auto) and user interface, excellent lighting everywhere (interior and exterior), simplistic and elegant interior design, roomy as hell for 7, superior ride quality, and sporty looks. The not-so-great: engine often feels a bit eager to provide too much power at lower speeds, keyless entry is uber-sensitive and will not work as expected if fob is in denim pockets or the wifes purse, gas tank a bit smallish for SUV this size. Otherwise its an impressive SUV and we receive compliments all the time. If youre into lights (e.g. DRLs, LEDs, etc.) this is the SUV for you as VW apparently has a thing for it. It stands on its own without trying to imitate Audi whatsoever. The brakes on this thing are impeccable and features like remote-start were standard. VWs got a home run with Atlas.

Meets all my requirements - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Peter - May 5 - 1:17 pmCar meets all my needs for roominess, safety technology, straightforward design and controls, comfort and quietness. However, at 4500 miles needed a front strut replaced. Carplay is buggy trying to listen to radio and navigate at same time. It wont run Waze. The turn signal light and blind spot warning are very close together on mirror and same color -hard to tell apart- not safe that way. Back up camera not bright enough when dark and rainy. Audible warning in backup should be standard with tech package. Overall its still the best choice for me after looking at all its competitors.

Almost there - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By MLevine - May 18 - 6:38 amA great SUV except engine is underpowered. Everything was great once we sat inside and reviewed the features. Once on the road that was the deal breaker. Engine needs some more horsepower.
