Great car so far! - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Greg - December 11 - 12:53 amMy wife and I had been looking for a new SUV for the last few months. Im a pretty big guy at 62" and about 245lbs so spaciousness is a big concern for me. After driving the pathfinder, highlander, 4 runner and pilot nothing compared to the space I have in the Atlas. Its a very comfortable ride and has great features that Ive never had in a car before. The lane assist, park assist and ACC work awesome but take a bit of getting used to. The sound system sounds great even without the top of the line Fender system. In addition the apple car play interface works great! My only concern with it is that it doesnt seem to let you search for specific sounds in iTunes unless you have it in a playlist. I may be wrong on this as Ive just began to play with it. All in all we have been very happy with the car so far. Time will see how well its reliability holds up but with VWs 72000 mile warranty on this car we figured it was well worth a try.

Atlas SEL Premium - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By BP - August 21 - 9:33 amEverything is great but the interior finishes look cheap. The dashboard and the seat material are not up to any luxury car standards. The 3rd Row seats have less legroom and could be an issue if used regularly. Love the drive assist technology in the car.

Atlast! - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Charlie C. - February 1 - 11:05 amI just purchased my Atlas about two weeks ago. I love the size of the vehicle and for its size, it handles nicely. If I put it in sport mode, acceleration is lively and adequate. In normal mode, acceleration is fine. The technology for the adaptive cruise control and lane keeping is amazing and although it took me a few weeks to figure everything out, it never ceases to amaze. The parking assist features work nicely as well. I use it for commuting in Houston and hauling the family around on weekends. Cant wait to take it on a long road trip. I would highly recommend this vehicle.

Don’t buy Atlas - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Bruce - November 28 - 1:39 amI bought Atlas from Leith In Raleigh in NC. 2018 SE 4motion R-Line. In two weeks the fuel pump broke and engine light and EPC lights turned on. I lost engin power. I called road assistance no body showed up after 2 hours!!! I went to service center they didn’t have parts. I drove my car 900 miles and it’s unbelievable that I have so many issues with this car. I call my dealership to complain but I was told you bought it you own it!!! Just forget about VW Atlas otherwise you will regret like me.

Poor build quality of new VW Atlas - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Iakov - February 3 - 6:17 amCould not even imagine that VW produces such cars and has such a poor level of technology and poor level of quality at the factory. My car was bought totally new (16 miles) from the official VW dealership and it has lots of issues, there is almost no exterior panel on my car that wasn’t adjusted or detached after my vehicle left the factory and after they painted it with the brush (I mean the loops). VW of America says that it is ok for them, they call it final adjustments, but I haven’t seen such issues on other VW cars (including Atlas). I ask them to recall my car and to exchange on the same Atlas without such issues but they don’t want to do it. Obviously, loops at the car are the main indicators that something was wrong. I don’t know what I should say to the buyer if decide to sell this car in future, how I should explain why hood, fender and doors were detached from my car. Probably this is a pre production vehicle and VW tried to adjust all the procedures and technology of production, but why I should suffer because of that an pay for it. So, if you decide to buy new VW double check it, inspect entire car as it is used already.

Cargo size, R Line style & warranty = great value - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Mike - July 19 - 6:27 amWe got a white R line SEL and it is a great looking vehicle and great value to other SUVs in this class. Storage space is off the charts. 6 year 72k mile warranty alleviates any long term concerns. We have way more storage than the 2012 Tahoe we traded in for this. Solid SUV. We had looked at 4 others in this class (Highlander, Explorer, Pilot, Traverse) before considering this and had no expectation we would love it this much. You absolutely have to get the R Line for the wheels and exterior painted trim (vs boring black plastic trim).

Really nice SUV, but.......... - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By N. Kaplan - June 10 - 9:54 pmI am quite concerned about the effectiveness and consistency of the vehicle’s safety & driver assist systems. The Autonomous Emergency Braking system failed in two different ways: did not stop or even try to stop the vehicle when it was quite close to crashing into a stationary vehicle; and abruptly stopped the vehicle when I was safely pulling out of a driveway with no vehicles approaching from either direction and no obstacles in front of me. In fact, my Atlas almost always sounds a warning alert each time I exit any driveway. Also, I would never rely on the vehicle’s Lane Assist system. Sometimes the car will counter-steer, and sometimes it won’t, independent of the speed I am driving or how clear are the lane markings. The service advisor at my VW dealership told me that other new Atlas owners came in and reported having these same problems. So far,

Great 3rd Row! - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas
By Alyssa - May 19 - 7:09 amOver all the car is great. Amazing cargo space. Love the panoramic roof. Takes a while to get used to all the lane control etc...I personally think theres a lack of cup holders.
