This Year's Model Updates:

The 2007 Toyota Tundra is completely redesigned. Larger and stronger than before, Toyota's full-size truck offers three cab sizes, three bed lengths and three engine choices, including an all-new 381-horsepower 5.7-liter V8.

Pros:
  • Wide range of cab and bed configurations, powerful 5.7-liter V8, high tow ratings, spacious passenger quarters, numerous safety and convenience features.
Cons:
  • Lots of hard plastic and a few ergonomic flaws in the cabin.

This is my 3rd Toyota truck, the first two being Tacomas. My first impression was how smooth and quiet the ride was, almost as good as our 2001 Avalon. The front seats are much higher (almost chair height) than the Tacoma and thus more comfortable on long hauls. Even my 6.5 foot bed is huge with approx. 66 cubic feet of room. The interior controls are very big and easy to turn while driving. Love the fact that like my Tacoma the rear door windows go all the way down when opened. And the guy that came up with the tailgate assist should get a raise. Also the standard Tire Pressure Monitor system is a plus. And did I mention standard VSC, ABS, TRAC, EBD and the huge (13.9 in) front brakes.

A joy to drive, lots of power, very comfortable driving position (my wife likes it as well). I have the double cab that provides good room for passengers. Im very happy with the truck so far (1200 miles).

I was a big believer in Toyota quality until my Tundra experience. Auto door locks and remote wont function on the front doors and they tell me it will be $1,250 to fix. Since the key only works on the driver door, this is a big hassle. Why design locks so they are too expensive to fix? The lights on the radio panel havent worked for most of the time since Ive had the truck, so the button lights and channel indicator cant be read while night driving. Transmission replaced once, but then often jerked when putting the car in drive. Dealer tells me they just have this problem and he cant fix it. This is not the reliability and quality I thought I was spending my money on.

I love this truck more and more everyday that I own it. This was my first Toyota purchase ever, had always been a diehard GM man. Well this truck is just everything my GM was not. I go out of the way to run errands just to drive this truck as much as I can. I actually chose the 4.7 over the 5.7 because I didnt need that much towing power nor the increased chance of speeding tickets.

  • Best truck I have ever had - 2007 Toyota Tundra

This is my first Toyota, first ever vehicle that was not Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. I bought mine used and have been amazed daily at how really good this truck is. 20 and sometimes more MPG on the highway. 14 to 16 running around town on errands but most of my use requires highway driving. I bought this truck as a grand experiment because I needed a vehicle that could do long mileage and not fail me when I needed it. So far, so good. This is the most comfortable truck I have ever used.

It is a great truck. The 5.7L engine is incredible. Ride is very smooth and comfortable. Gas mileage is low, but that is the price you pay for a V8. Quality is high both inside and out. The only thing to say about the inside is the console is TOO big. Why not make the seats a little bigger instead. But everything is within reach and storage is massive.

  • Expected so much more - 2007 Toyota Tundra

I have had this truck for a year and a half now and its falling apart. None of the lights work inside, I can not turn up or down the volume on the radio, the steering has gotten so loose and I could swear the tie rods are broke. I had high hopes for this truck but no go.

This is the finest truck I have ever driven. Its got power, style and it is pretty darn comfortable to drive. The MPG is fair, but it is expected for a big V8 truck. The interior is very roomy, has a zillion cup holders and a lot of storage. It did not come with a bed liner so I got the Line-X spray in for it. Love it. It gets a little bumpy at times with the bed empty, but so has every truck I ever had.

  • Not bad - 2007 Toyota Tundra

Overall Im happy. Great power. Haul heavy loads all the time and have had no issues with ride. Ride actually gets better as the bed is weighted. Empty bed on rough roads cause entire truck to resonate... this is common in trucks though. Inside plastic; radio and dash material is cheap (planned to get aftermarket nav as it has better features). Bluetooth is actually no good, no one can hear me clearly. JBL subwoofer under rear seat is poorly placed, should have stuck it behind the seat. Center channel on dash makes noise if covered up with paper. Rear head rests obstruct view. No memory seats, rear ac vents or step lights standard on DC Limited? I couldnt get a moonroof on the DC.

  • One of the best! - 2007 Toyota Tundra

I have owned Toyota trucks, since 1993, nine to be exact. This truck is by far the best one yet! Tons of power, torque and comfort. Nicely laid out int, 381+ hp., pulled an 8,900lb load for 248 miles with out a grunt! Average fuel mileage is 17.8 mpg. Never did I have a problem with any of my other Toyotas either. Trust a loyal Toyota customer. Also have the 2007 FJ cruiser.
