  • Love it - 2008 Toyota Tacoma

Love the truck for the price. Got the base model with automatic. No complaints. Would have been nice if Toyota would have added wiper delay as part of the BASIC package like almost everyone else. That part is annoying. Have bench seats. Would have liked bucket but like I said I got the base model. It was priced lower than any other truck in its size. And hey its a Toyota. It will run forever. Nuff said

  • Solid truck for recreation - 2008 Toyota Tacoma

This truck is a tank in mud and snow. Less than a week after we purchased it, we took it out into the Owhyee Mountains. While crawling up hills though several inches of mud, the Tacoma tracked very well where other (much larger) trucks had slid off the road and torn up the brush. My Tacoma has forded many streams and climbed over rocks without developing any problems. With lots of payload (lbs) and a truck bed, I can fit all my gear, including shovels and saws, for winter camping in the truck, plus my dogs crate in the back seat. It handles surprisingly well on highway - better than my Subaru Forester. Over 16000 miles, Ive averaged 20 mpg in city, highway, and off-road miles.

I bought the loaded TRD offroad package. Sharp black baja rims. I love the feeling of driving this car. Its smooth, tight, you dont feel pot holes - it seems to glide right over them, it feels like a truck sports car. Its quiet on the road, has organized storage to put things. Make sure you get it with all the options available. You will want them when you own it for awhile. Do not sacrifice comfort - get the upgraded seats. They are great with lumbar support.

  • Great Truck, But... - 2008 Toyota Tacoma

I have the 2-wheel drive PreRunner with the TRD offroad package and locking rear differential, 4-wheel ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist. All in all, I rate this truck the best-engineered vehicle I have ever owned--a wonderful piece of work. It is sheer pleasure to see the intelligence used in its planning and execution. But I have traded it in after two years of ownership (for another Toyota) because it is dangerous on slippery roads. I have had multiple spinouts on snow, even when proceeding slowly and carefully. (The only other minus is the mileage, but I was fairly warned, so cant complain.) This 2WD isnt for snow country.

  • 1st Toyota - 2008 Toyota Tacoma

Ive had good luck with pickups in general, but this is my 1st Toyota. So far I couldnt be happier with my decision. Smooth, quiet and great fun to drive. The 2.7 has all the power I need and the Prerunner suspension looks beefy - like a truck should look!

  • Very impressed. Good job Toyota - 2008 Toyota Tacoma

I bought this truck new (3 miles on it) one week ago today. Had really been looking at Colorados but after seeing how sharp the black Tacoma w/Rugged Terrain package looked, reading lots and lots of reviews, and doing extensive research, I was hooked. I am glad I spent a couple thousand extra dollars to get too many extra features to count over the competitors, not to mention Toyota reliability. The truck rides smooth, almost like a car, but can turn into a mean mud-flinging machine off road. I have had it in the mud once and I was really impressed with the off-road ability, even in 4x4 high. The 4.0 liter V6 is amazing... extremely powerful throughout the power range, tons of torque.

  • Almost Perfect - 2008 Toyota Tacoma

Time for a new truck. I wanted a reliable, quality pickup with some style that I didnt need a second mortgage to buy. Where to go? Duh... Toyota, of course! The Tacoma is a true mid size pickup, with loads of style and way high on the fun factor. Im 62" and its perfect for me. In fact, its really nice having a smaller truck without hitting my head on the roof. Ive heard some complain about the suspension. Its the nicest of any truck Ive owned. Tight and true. The interior is attractive and functional, without being expensively gawdy.

First Toyota truck, have driven Ford f150s all of my 52 years, the brakes on the Tacoma seem to be some what weak, should be disc on the rear and the transmission feels like it downshifts a little hard. Like the storage space and ground clearance. Like interior of the truck. Plan on keeping this truck a long time.

  • 4th Toyota truck! - 2008 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

I wanted a truck that would tow my trailer, get me into the back country, get good mileage, be reliable and dependable: what else but another Toyota! This is my 4th, and Ive never had a complaint or serious problem. Toyota is offering incentives now and that swung the deal for me. But I would have purchased one without that.
