Beats the competiition - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By Jim - December 16 - 10:36 pmLooked at the competition and nothing beat the Tacoma for value, looks, and build quality. The engine is quiet and smooth and gets this truck moving quickly. The interior looks very sporty for a truck. Mine has the TRD package which gives you some nice extras for the money. I am averaging about 20 mpg which is about what I expected for mixed driving. Not great but acceptable for a truck. Would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a mid-size truck.

Love my truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By G. Kennedy - October 13 - 10:03 amI have always wanted a Toyota Tacoma ever since they came out. Last November I purchased the 2006 Cab 6 cylender Tacoma with off road package and love affair has begun. To solve the gas mileage problem (17 city and 19 road), I got a bed cover and improved my gas mileage to 18 city and 22 road. One problem is the lock in 4 wheel drive does not have a light and in bad weather is hard to locate. Otherwise there is nothing bad I can say about this truck so buy it.

Solid overall truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By yotiss - September 3 - 12:26 pmThis truck has performed exactly as I have needed it to. I have hauled and towed thousands of pounds over the past 2 years without a hint of power loss or suspention drop. The back seat is also perfect for driving my kids around. I have 3 other friends with this truck that feel the same way. Solid truck, solid buy!!

Functional and Great Looking - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By XChevyOwner - August 19 - 4:23 pmJust sold my fullsize for my Toy Double Cab. First tank, just over 21mpg frwy. 2nd tank just over 16mpg city. Averaging 18mpg. After 1200 miles I floored it for the first time... very impressive power. Spacious front & rear legroom. Storage is convenient, secure and out of plain view. Bed is modular, highly functional. Worry-free surface. Invest in a rubber bed mat. JBL sound system is a must. Audio controls on the steering-wheel are awesome. There is more audio than I can handle! Crisp, clear, loud and the powerful base, turns heads. Pre-runner height is just right. The ride is fair to stiff. This is my fourth truck, 3rd toyota truck. Nice to be back in a Toyota.

SWEET TRUCK - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By przemekmsu - July 3 - 4:43 amMy first Toyota ever. So far so good. I love the muscular look of the exterior. The interior is very nice, it looks like you are driving a camry or something. I got the TRD off road package and I am taking in off road and it is so much FUN. The six speed manual transmission is cool to drive. Although the clutch is little loud when I am changing gears. Over all the truck has really good handling. The truck is definitely little more expensive than the competitors on the market, but you are getting a great truck that will last you for a very long time and toyotas reliability.

Great truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By rande - June 18 - 3:03 pmThis is my 8th toyota truck. My first was a 1986. I love the double cab and the long bed. Enough room and power to take the family and pull the boat, plus load my HD in the bed. The quality is second to none. Great looks as well.

Why go anywhere else? - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By pathfinder - February 27 - 12:03 pmVery much satisfied with this truck. Fit and finish are exceptional, as is the design. Oil changes will be easy (filter on top). The TRD sport package is exactly what I need; nothing more, nothing less. Already said, but the orange dash lighting is a little dated (70s? 80s?). Six-speed transmission is smooth and loves revs. Looked at models with tube steps and running boards -- went with the latter; they are better looking and more functional (help to protect the lower area paint). Dealer made a great offer, and, truth be told, it was the best car-buying experience in my life (and Ive bought a lot of cars). The access cab is roomy and the sound system (with CD changer) is quality.

Tacoma ROCKS - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By gtiger - January 6 - 7:30 amGot my tacoma a day before christmas, a prerunner 4cyl, access cab, silver with SR5 and alloy wheels. Absolutely love it, lots of room, drives smooth, has all the bells and whistles I always wanted in a pick-up. Overall quality of the interior is far superior than the other competitors.
