Model Overview:

Since its introduction in 1995, the Toyota Tacoma has been a mainstay of the compact and midsize pickup segments. The original Tacoma fell into the compact category, while the second-generation truck's 2005 debut marked the transition to midsize dimensions. Typical advantages to a new or used Tacoma include a variety of body styles to choose from, useful off-road abilities, strong resale value and a better than average reputation for reliability.

Downsides are few. Even when modestly appointed, this Toyota often costs more than competing trucks and prices are high on the used market as well. In addition, taller drivers might feel cramped inside the first-generation Tacoma's compact cab. Otherwise, the Toyota Tacoma is a very capable pickup that's highly recommended for nearly all truck shoppers.

I have always owned Toyotas. My first was a 1986 that ended up with 276,000 mile, second a 1994 ext cab 4x4 that I sold to buy this truck. I ordered this vehicle having never driven this model because I am so loyal to Toyota. It took 6 months to arrive. I ordered a silver double cab TRD 4x4 with 6 speed manual transmission. This truck has been great so far and I love driving it.

  • 2007 Tacoma PreRunner - 2007 Toyota Tacoma

Ive only had it a few days but after driving a 6 cyl. manual Ford F150 for 4 years this is a godsend. I bought an 07 Tacoma PreRunner with the TRD off road package. It has been an exceptional truck and Ive had several of my neighbors/co-workers comment on it. I think I made the right decision. The Indigo-blue looks outstanding. It beats the Ford F150 6 cyl. into the ground for power.

Hands down the best truck ever invented. Not too big but definitely not small. I can fit 5 people in the cab comfortably and a stack of surfboards in the back. This truck is PERFECT.

  • Cant go wrong - 2009 Toyota Tacoma

I owned 1989 Toyota pickup, 20 years later Toyota still out does it. Interior lights sharp color orange, all controls easy to see. Timberland ica new color for 2009, show stopping color, style is sharp to look at. Windshield nice and large to see road.
