Have had no problems with truck other than the average wear and tear of use. No rust and its now 3/1/08. Have owned 3 toyotas and this is the best. Recommend and will purchase another. 4WD works great.

  • great so far - 2002 Toyota Tacoma

The overall quality and design is almost perfect. Although the options can be a little pricy, there really is no comparison to any other make. After testing several other imports and domestics, this is by far the superior vehicle. Already having over 4000 miles in just a month and a half, the ride is quite comfortable, especially for someone of my size (64" and 250lbs). One of the downfalls is the lack of room in the Xcab. I dont even think my 11 year old nephew was comfortable on a 5 mile drive. definitely need a re-design for the Xcab in the near future. Other than that, the truck is quite capable.

  • Excellent Quality Pick-up Truck - 2002 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

Ive had my Tacoma Double Cab for two years and love it. It has been very reliable and have had no problems at all with it. The quality of the truck is excellent inside and out. Ive been very impressed that the cost of maintenance is much less expensive than most others. I would recommend this truck to anyone looking for a good looking, quality pick-up truck. The Tacoma Double Cab also has great leg room in the front as well as in the back.

  • Tough Choices - Tacoma - 2002 Toyota Tacoma

Tacoma Dbl Cab is a good compromise amoung the compact and mid-sized pickups. TRD package is proven to be good choice for options received. Parks well in tight parking garages and fits inside the garage at home. Tacoma PreRunners just are not a smooth ride on any surface. Tundra rides far superior. Back seat is comfortable and folds up just right for the dog to ride in back. Front bucket seem to be fine for support of the average build. Seat height is bit low but not uncomfortable. Note that the back seat windows go down all the way! Im sold on the truck and looking forward to many years of driving.

  • You get what you pay for... - 2002 Toyota Tacoma

I have read a number of other reviews and was not shocked to read about the fender flare seal problems. Other than that, after a few cross country trips and lots of stop and go traffic; no problems whatsoever. I cannot adequately express how much I love this truck. I think that it is by far the best looking truck in its class and, of course, the quality of a Toyota speaks for itself. Although it is more expensive than the others in its class, I think we all know that you get what you pay for when it comes to trucks and I feel as though I have received every pennys worth when it comes to my Tacoma.

  • 8 1/2 Years and Goin Strong - 2002 Toyota Tacoma

I had lusted a red Toyota 4x4 Xtracab since I was in college, and my wife and I could finally afford to buy this one new TRD off the lot. Weve taken into the most inhospitable places in the Colorado high country, moved out of two houses with it, landscaped innumerable lots with it, and added kids to the mix in between all the rest. Its been flawless overall, and we still love it dearly after 8 1/2 years. Given, the interior is small for a child seat and two 510 and over adults. Yes, there are a few rattles, it gets < 20 mpg, and rides like a buckboard wagon. But, its a go-anywhere truck that always works. Weve never regretted buying it, even once.

Bought the 2002 Pre-runner V6 ext.cab Tacoma version last week. I already have 500 Miles!!! Im very pleased. What a fun car. The Pre-Runner trim and TRD Off-Road package makes the truck sit up a lot higher than most other trucks. The V6 has a nice punch. And you cant argue about how beautiful yet rugged the Tacoma looks. Im looking forward to putting many miles on this truck.

Ive had my Tacoma for over a year. Very reliable, low maintenance truck. Plenty of torque and nice off-road features - especially the electronically locking rear dif. (TRD Package) Several warranty items covered without question from the dealer.

  • Tacoma Crew Cab - 2002 Toyota Tacoma

Have had this Tacoma for two weeks and really love it. So far mileage has been decent. I have 1580 miles on it (vacation) and just installed the K&N air filter. The K&N made a slight difference in acceleration for the better. Paid 2.7% above dealer invoice. Build quality is super. Did have one rear cargo hook missing in the bed.
