  • Great Truck! - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Just bought this vehicle, my fourth. Really enjoy driving it, although the steering wheel seems a little low. Need to be able to adjust more. The leg room could also be a little more roomier as the brake pedal is kind of close to the gas. Guess Ill get use to it since I traded my 2003 in!

Bought the 2005 Toyota Tacoma Base with A/C and 15" wheels, have not owned it long but a great truck. I had a 1985 Toyota Truck bought new and put 150k on the clock. If you a looking for an inexpensive vehicle for a homeowner this is it.

Very dependable. Have no complaints, only wished it would get better gas mileage. It seems to be very durable. No part failures or recalls on this one. All small trucks should have 16" wheels and leather seats. Tacoma 2dr 4 cyl. Does not. My concern at the present is, a vibration coming from the drive shaft, under acceleration. If a person wants or needs a small truck, this is the one.

Only on my 3rd tank but just love all this truck can do, power to tow my boat, seating, more bed space than the competition, storage everywhere, and pretty good gas mileage. 19.5 mpg first tank, 19.7 the 2nd, combo of city and hwy with even some towing, which used to just kill the mpg on past trucks Ive had. Impressive job Toyota. I use premium as recommended for the V-6, note that if you just get 2 mpg more than regular and drive at least 800 miles/month, premium is actually cheaper to use if it doesnt cost more than about 20 cents extra per gal. Do the math too and youll see, plus much better for the life of this particular engine I bet.

4x4 TRD Sport Package, JBL system...This is a very solid truck. Rides great, handles great. Definitely recommend the JBL 6-disc changer and speaker upgrade - sounds awesome. Have only had the truck for a week, but have put on several hundred miles for xmas traveling. Very comfortable for 4+ hour trips. Short bed is very easy to maneuver. Cant wait to hit the beaches and trails...

  • The 2005 Taco - A very nice truck indeed - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

A very nice small truck with a mid size truck feel. The power is vastly improved, I like the room in the cab. After my 1990 Toy, I experimented with a 99 Ranger 4WD - yuck, a 98 Mazda and a 98 Nissan. Its sure nice to get back to owning a Toyota!

  • Proud of it! - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

I love my not-so-little red truck! Gas mileage is excellent! Never been under 24 for me, and sometimes is as high as 28. The 4 cyl has plenty of power as well. 4WD is easy to engage and provides extra pull in 4 low. The composite bed is an improvement. Plenty of space on the interior, even for me at 62" 230 lbs. This is a great buy for the price, assuming that it is as reliable as a Toyota should be.

  • Quality Second to None - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Ive been looking for a truck for years before finally settling on the new Tacoma. The Nissans didnt drive well after a few years, and the older Toyotas didnt come with much in the way of standard features. I got a basic regular cab 4x4 with the 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed manual. For a very basic truck, it comes loaded with many things that make it fun to drive everyday (cd player, ABS, etc). I was skeptical about the "knob type" transfer case shifter, but it has worked seamlessly so far. Overall its nice to be able to drive something that does what a truck should do, and still feel like a raised camry.

  • Tacoma 4dr. double cab - 2005 Toyota Tacoma

My new Tacoma double cab has lots of power. The ride is very smooth. The handling is great. The truck is very well built. I love the fact that the oil filter is right out in the open and so is all of the fluid containers and battery. The new truck design is much better than the old Tacomas. Plenty of room in the front and back. Plenty of cup holders front and back. The only thing that I didnt understand is why Toyota would give you a cigarette lighter but no ashtray. I also wanted the compass and temperature and it didnt come with the SR5 package.

  • Best Truck I have ever owned or driven - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

After driving this vehicle I knew that I had to have one. I have owned Dodges, Chevys & Driven Fords. I have also driven the previous model Tacoma & this is so much more truck. I had people stop me constantly asking how I liked my 2003 Tacoma & boy do I have news about the new one. It drives rides handles like no other truck. It has more cup holders than I think anyone could ever use. Maybe.
