a girl who loves her truck! - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
By Mija - June 30 - 11:13 pmI previously owned a Toyota Corolla Type S and I felt it was time to upgrade to something more my style and the new Tacoma if a perfect fit for me. Although it isnt as fuel efficient as my old car but over all it is is pretty good for a truck. It has a smooth ride on any terrain and it just an over all great machine to drive. I LOVE IT!

You can have your cake and eat it too !! - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
By James K. Hoy - June 23 - 12:40 amI have been driving trucks for exactly 20 years now. Through this time it has been my experiance that you have to give up performance to achieve a vehicle that is suitable for work. With the new Tacoma, those days are over. I have a Crew Cab, Pre Runner, with the TRD Sport package, a V6 and the SR5 set up. This truck not only tows my work trailer, (a 5 x 8 cargo loaded with cabinet installation tools),effortlessly, its sharp to impress a date with, it handles like a dream and man will she fly when you turn her lose. I traded in an 02 Ford F150 with the 5.4L. Its payload was rated higher but other than that, this truck out performs hands down, and its al ot more fun to drive!!!!!

New Tacoma: 21st Century Truck - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
By WMaddox - May 29 - 7:03 pmTerrific Truck. My Tacoma makes me smile every day. Not a squeak, not a rattle, not a thump. I looked at the Nissan Frontier; it feels too truck- like compared to the Toyota. I also checked out the Honda Ridgeline and was discouraged by the 6K dealer markup & typical (and inexplicable) Honda styling effort. Although I believe all three are excellent buys. The "Taco" can do it all: drives like a car, plays in the dirt, and hauls the family or a pile of bricks with equal efficiency. The 5-speed automatic tranny is a dream, better mileage and 0-60 times than the 6-speed manual, go figure... Therefore, Im no longer a stick shift only guy. Now Im enjoying the lazy ("shiftless") lifestyle.

Look at FRAME first !!!! - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
By yomama - May 6 - 12:33 amI am the owner of 2005 reg cab 4x4. It has a huge problem with rust on the frame. The rust is not all the way thru but it already has started and I have never seen rust like this so early. Frame actually looks as if it belongs to a truck 20 years old! I would only recomend this truck to someone living in a very dry area. I will not purchase another Toyota because of this. How safe can it be to drive down highway with nothing holding the truck together? I wish I would have known before purchase. Too bad, I get over 25 mpg with A/C on in city!

By mrfoxy56 - April 25 - 5:40 pmJust bought this truck with TRD Off Road pkg. So far no problems. Im 56 yo and I love it...and so do the kids. Got bed extender with clear mask and tint all around. This truck is awesome and built to last. Toyota really did its homework on the redesign.

By benjos - April 20 - 12:00 amso far great truck...more stable, more room,& great new options as compared to my 04 tacoma... only setback so far is clunking noise coming from area around the front shocks when hitting a bump or pothole...dealership looking into pro- blem...need more volume from standard sound system.

05 X-Runner Awesome! - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
By baddaddy - April 16 - 4:30 pmSaw the X-Runner at the San Diego International auto show, immediately started searching. Had to wait for one to arrive, ended up being the first non speedway blue one in CA, or so I was told. Love it. Handling surprises many "sports car" drivers. Weak link was stereo, so I upgraded it. I get more looks than new Corvettes. Have not gotten this many thumbs up and comments since I owned my 66 GTO.
