Downsized - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By Tom Godwin - August 12 - 8:03 pmGot out of Chevy 4 door crew cab. Good truck but 5.3l 8cyl was only averaging 13.2 miles for driving habits. Got 18 on first tank with Taco. 10 gallons less a week. Old truck was very comfortable because of size but I didnt really loose much here. It is actually very comfortable for its size. Prerunner has nice high-ride feel too. Plenty of power.

The Big Red Tacoma - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By Marc Smith - August 11 - 5:56 amThe only issue that I have is that this model does not come in the automatic transmission. I have had some difficulty in learning on how to drive a manual again but that has not taken away from my overall enjoyment of this truck so far. This truck has a superb ride and feel.

Logical Opinion - Tall Man - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By EAHinsch - July 21 - 4:20 amThe Tacoma is my fourth Toyota, and second Tacoma (1999). This truck is substantially larger than the previous models and it is wonderful. I am 66", 290 lbs and I fit in the vehicle with plenty of room. I do enjoy the interior and exterior styling and feel it gets decent gas mileage for a truck that is built to be taken off-road. If you are looking for fuel efficiency, I dont know why you would be looking for a 4WD truck. I have 8,800 miles on my Taco and it has not had any problems. The truck has plenty of power when you need it and drives like a truck, which I enjoy. If you want a "car-like" ride, I recommend a 4Runner which I own as well or a Highlander. This is a mans truck!

Toyota - well deserved brand for quality - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By pcm - July 13 - 1:00 amVery impressed with my first truck I purchased for occasional trip to Home Depot. I got the TRD Sport Package and thought that is the most practical option. The truck is amazingly well equiped for its relatively low price.

I like this truck! - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By brad - February 21 - 9:13 pmThis is a great little truck. I included the SR5 package and upgrade wheels... looks really sharp and rides very comfortable. So far, the only thing I have hauled in it is air. Quality, design and workmanship are all very good.

Relatively perfect - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By EXTREMELY Satisfied - February 16 - 4:20 pmThis is my first new vehicle. I had done a lot of research into the Tacoma and I was very impressed, especially with the test drive. I also did research into competitors. There was no comparison. The Tacoma outperformed them all. I bought the Pre Runner Access Cab SR5 V6 with A/T. It comes with A/C, C/C, P/W, P/L, tow package and a CD player, keyless entry. No extra bells/whistles needed. The V6 is very powerful and very fast, plenty of power for towing. The transmission shifts smoothly and performs well. Road noise is minimal. I have taken it up to the mountains and on a long trip already, no problems. The truck powers up the grades with no trouble and cruises very comfortably. 100% Truck!

06 Tacoma Crew Prerunner LB - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By Steve - January 23 - 5:06 pmI have owned my Tacoma for about 6 weeks and have 3300 miles on it. I shopped all the mid-sizes and bought the right one. I have trailer tow pkg, longbed, side curtain airbags, alloy wheels, and running lights. Controls are friendly, comfort exceptional, handling good. I am a very conservative driver, keep my tires firm, and only can get 18.5-19 mpg hwy. One main reason for buying was mileage and its not there. Long box is a big plus. I wish the truck had auto-on lights like my old Sonoma had, but other than those two items, I love it. It runs well, rides good, and looks great. Despite the mileage disappointment, I still wouldnt trade for anything else Ive seen.
