Overview & Reviews
Since its introduction in 1995, the Toyota Tacoma has been a mainstay of the compact and midsize pickup segments. The original Tacoma fell into the compact category, while the second-generation truck's 2005 debut marked the transition to midsize dimensions. Typical advantages to a new or used Tacoma include a variety of body styles to choose from, useful off-road abilities, strong resale value and a better than average reputation for reliability.
Downsides are few. Even when modestly appointed, this Toyota often costs more than competing trucks and prices are high on the used market as well. In addition, taller drivers might feel cramped inside the first-generation Tacoma's compact cab. Otherwise, the Toyota Tacoma is a very capable pickup that's highly recommended for nearly all truck shoppers.

Second Toyota Im owned - 2010 Toyota Tacoma
By Callie - September 2 - 6:33 amDesign changes with respect to my 2003 Toyota are great. The opposing rear doors to load items behind the seats is an excellent change. The tilt/telescoping steering wheel is not well engineered. Im 6"4" and the steering wheel will not rise as high as my 2003 and my legs hit the steering when when I get into the drivers set. The other item that needs re-engineering is the overhead display of the temp/compass. It is dimmer than the clock and cant been seen during daylight driving very well. The gas tank door is another item that needs changing. My 2003 had a saw tooth device to attach the gas cap while fueling. The 2010 has nothing to hold the gas cap. Overall, I am well satisfied.

All Around Strength - 2005 Toyota Tacoma
By cub49er4life - September 1 - 4:06 amThis truck has been wonderful. I have not had any of the issues some others have complained of. It is very roomy on the interior, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Most people cant believe its a truck when they are inside because it is so nice. There is nice height on the 4x4 doublecab, and the handling is fantastic. Overall, it drives very smooth on the road and is very responsive.

By Gregg - August 29 - 12:40 amI have owned this truck for just over 2 years now and have loved every minute. The Tacoma is an all around fun truck to drive. Ive been on sand at lake powell, mountains all over, mud and snow, and the thing just keeps going. I love how this truck performs. It has never disappointed me.

Just What I Needed - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By Paws Nursery - August 23 - 12:30 amThis machine is more that just a rugged farm implement for which I bought it. It is also comfortable around town. Shifting is harder that in a front-driver, but once used to it I found it quite enjoyable. Engine has both low- and high-end so it doesnt matter the gear, itll accelerate with ease. The 4WD and TRD Off-Road package make it more suited than some Jeeps. It is very capable, has a huge bed, and is designed to last 300,000 miles. Oil filter on top of engine makes replacement easy.

Solid Truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By Brandon - August 8 - 1:36 amI have 3000 miles so far on my Tacoma.Absolutely an all around truck! Supurb power, fuel economy, comfort and great looks! Traded in 2004 F150, which I liked, but the Tacoma V6 is great, dont feel I lost any power in comparison. Im getting 22 miles a gallon which was suprising cause many vehicles dont really match the estimates! A great truck that you cant go wrong with!!

Best Truck Built - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
By Mark Luffred - August 6 - 8:00 pmThis is by far the best truck on the market. The coil-spring double wishbone front suspension on this truck gives you the feel of driving a luxury car. The power to weight ratio gives you better than expected acceleration performance even on the 4 cylinder. The bed rail system combined with the bed anchors give you the flexibility to handle any hauling task.
