So far I have 460 miles on our new Tacoma and I love it. I special ordered mine and at first there are a metallic sound from the undercarriage when the engine was cold. That has since gone away. I purchased a TRD with VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), DHA (Down Hill Assist), and HSA Hill Start Assist). We have taken it off road just a little and the 4 wheel drive works wonderfully. I have not found a way to test the DHA or the HSA yet but I bet that it will work just fine. I am still taking it slow and easy because I am still in the under 500-mile club. I have a feeling that I will never sell this truck.

I just bought this truck a few days ago and have already put 200 miles on it simply because it is that fun to drive! Excellent build--just a monster on the road. Came w/ a 3" suspension lift and AT tires that only magnify the rugged look and feel. Recommended to anyone looking to have reliability and an overall fun time with a new vehicle.

It took a while to get used to the trucks dimensions. Steering is very responsive. Steering seemed quite free on freeway, like truck wasnt LOCKED into lane. Ride is smooth, great shocks. Brakes are light, not sensitive. Quite a bit of outside noise even with windows up. Can be difficult at times to see cars in blindspots. Great on rough or dirt-roads. Went deep into the forest, made my own road. Like I listed above, 86,000 miles on an 06 Tacoma. Im on the same brakes, plugs, clutch, and feel I can reach 100,000 b4 any changes. Needed new set of tires at 60k and a wheel alignment. Got rear ended right rear corner, pretty hard, things did not shatter just bent (STRONG) no frame damage.

  • What a difference!! - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I have owned my 06 Tacoma for a nearly 3 weeks now and absolutely love it. The truck is the perfect size and the design is awesome. On of my friends bought a newer Silverado and I was amazed that the Tacoma was just as tall and long, STOCK! It rides much better than my old Dakota and is definitely more solid. I have no complaints with this truck!!

  • Best Truck Out There - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I looked at all the mid-size trucks and you will not find a better made or looking truck than the Tacoma. All the other trucks seem to always be on sale but not the Tacoma 4x4. Toyota knows they have a good thing and you pay a little more to get one, but its well worth it. These trucks will hold their value and are built to last. The interior is very roomy and quite for a truck. I got the Sport Package with the upgraded interior and I love it. The hood scope adds a nice touch and gives it a little aggressive look. The V6 has plenty of power and is quick to respond. I’ve only got 500 miles on mine (drove from Sacramento to Reno over the weekend) and the drive was very relaxing.

I just bought my new Tacoma access cab. I like this truck very much. I traded in my 02 tacoma for it.There is a big difference in the new model nicer interior and there is more room inside. The engine has more power and is fun to drive. Im getting about 18 miles per gallon around town.

  • Great Truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

This is a truly great vehicle. Toyota makes great quality vehicles that you can trust. The only space for improvement is in the area of fuel economy. It is a little rough around the edges but will do. No real complaints with this truck. Highly recommended! :)

  • Love that Tacoma! - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

The car is very well built, fun to drive and easy to maintain. I like the bed material (carbon fiber?) that is stronger than steel, but rust proof. I like the oil filter mounted on top of the engine, which is easy to change. It is so easy, I am changing my own oil for the first time in my life. My MPG is over 20MPG, reaching 24 on some highway trips, but I do drive with minimal gas consumption in mind. I like the rear seat fold-downs for carrying capacity. The interior is car-like, not truck-like. The ride is a bit stiff, but it is a truck! You need a bed cover, a bed pad so stuff doesnt slide, and a ramp, and you are set to go! No problems after 9K miles. So far, so good!

  • Nice truck. - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Great truck. Fantastic acceleration for a truck in this price range. Gas mileage is pretty good considering engine size. If you want great gas mileage, be prepared to sacrifice performance and acceleration. I get 18-20 on the road, driving conservatively. A little less, driving aggressively. Give me acceleration and performance over gas mileage anyday. Glad I bought this truck.
